Everyone knows Monster Curry and their XXL curry rice platters. Currently, the restaurant chain has 13 outlets islandwide. They are now expanding to be more inclusive to Muslim diners with Monster Planet, a halal offshoot of their flagship brand. Monster Planet will sell all the XXL dishes you know and love from the original, albeit with a MUIS-certified menu, with their very first outlet at Causeway Point.

At Monster Planet, choose either a 35cm or a 41cm plate of curry rice, and tailor your spice level to your liking, choosing from the mild Normal to the mouth-watering, sweat-inducing Monster Hot.
The hot sauces and curry are both made in-house, with the latter cooked for two days, comprising a blend of 14 vegetables and aromatics.
Expect signatures like the Monster Curry Combo ($27.80) to still be available. This giant plate includes rice, their demi-glace curry, chicken katsu, beef shabu-shabu, tempura shrimp, and fried fish, topped with curry and cheese.
For a less heavy meal, there is also the Signature Chicken Katsu Curry ($13.80)—the simple combination of curry, a deep-fried chicken cutlet, and rice.
Monster Planet will also sell exclusive items, including their Lemongrass Chicken Burger ($8.80), featuring a premium chicken patty seasoned with aromatic lemongrass. Top up $3 more and enjoy a drink, as well as fries, to go with the burger.

Desserts will also be available, including their Mixed Berries Honey Toast ($10.80), where Shibuya-style French toast is topped with whipped cream, berries, and a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s vanilla ice cream.
Those living outside of Woodlands, don’t fret that you might miss out on Monster Planet, as the eatery will be opening two more outlets that are more central. The next is slated to open by year-end at The Centrepoint in Orchard, while the third will open at Paya Lebar Square come end-January 2021.
For more newly halal-certified dining options, check out the fried chicken burgers by Ordinary Burgers, souffle pancakes at Fluff Stack, and a halal hotpot buffet at Suki Suki Thai Hotpot.
