Bishan residents, you’re in luck! A new mookata stall, Mookata Addicts, opened in the area three months ago. Run by a Thai national, the stall aims to bring authentic yet affordable Thai cuisine for all Singaporeans to enjoy. Best of all, the stall’s menu has more than 60 items on its menu with some truly unique options.
Just like any other mookata stall, Mookata Addicts has your standard meat options, namely Chicken ($4.90), Pork ($4.90), Beef ($6.90) and Seafood ($6.90). However, what sets them apart is their house-made marinades. Here, you can get meats flavoured withsalted egg yolk, tom yum, and even mala, to name a few.Â
Besides your usual proteins, Mookata Addicts also serves ingredients such as Pork Liver ($4), Streaky Bacon ($6), and Scallops ($8.90) to elevate your meal.
At first glance, the salted egg yolk pork belly was thoroughly coated with a generous amount of sauce. Despite that, it was not too overpowering and had a nice savoury flavour. If you enjoy salted egg-flavoured foods, this one is right up your alley!Â
Seafood lovers, we definitely recommend the fresh Prawns ($6.90). Once cooked, the prawns were extremely juicy and succulent. Other seafood options include Tom Yum Fish ($6.90), Fishballs ($3.50), and Lala ($5.90).Â
To elevate your meal, pair your food with their complimentary house-made dipping sauces. Spicy food lovers will love their chilli padi and garlic concoction, but for those of you with a low spice tolerance, you can try their seafood sauce or sukiyaki sauce.Â
Besides their a la carte menu, the stall also has a Set Platter priced at $28.80. The set feeds between two to three people, and includes ingredients such as pork slices, sliced fish, and assorted vegetables.Â
