Nesuto To Open Chio Cafe With New Matcha Chestnut Cake, Goma Bonbon And More At Jewel

Nesuto opens cafe at Jewel with new cakes and bonbons

If you’ve been following Nesuto since they opened their doors six years ago, you’d want in on this: the homegrown patisserie is launching a second outlet at Jewel Changi Airport on 21 July 2023!

Founded by pastry chef Alicia Wong, the local dessert shop is known for their dainty Japanese and French-inspired cakes. The Jewel cafe offers all-new cakes and pretty bonbons, with an extensive list of tea, coffee, and wine to boot.

The cosy 30-seater boasts an uber-aesthetic space that meshes minimalistic decor with post-modernist elements and rustic textures.

Besides their signature entremets, Nesuto fans can also look forward to new creations at the dine-in cafe, alongside a small selection of teas hand-carried from Japan by Alicia herself.

We highly recommend the Matcha Chestnut ($12.90++), for light Uji matcha chantilly cream and creamy chestnut mousse atop a dense matcha blondie.

If you’d like something richer, try their new Chocolate Orange ($11.20++) cake. Cold cream is infused with orange zest for two days, before it’s blended with dark chocolate to create a decadent orange chocolate ganache that stars in this celebration-worthy dessert.

Another new addition is the Whiskey Chocolate ($11.90++): chocolate brownie with dark chocolate cremeux, topped with a sinful whisky-infused blonde chocolate layer, AKA caramelised white chocolate.

If all that isn’t enough sugar for you, splurge on their new Chocolate Bon Bons, available in six interesting flavours: Passionfruit & Hazelnut, Raspberry & Lime, Rose & Pistachio, Earl Grey & Bergamot, Sesame Rum, and Smoked Dark Chocolate & Caramel. They’re available at $23.14+ for a box of six—great for gifting.

Our favourite of the lot was the goma-infused bonbon, which boasted a fragrant nuttiness from the black sesame.

Do note that Nesuto Jewel will only open from 21 July 2023. It’s around six minutes by foot from Changi Airport MRT Station. The same mall is home to plenty of other good eats, including Sourbombe Bakery‘s doughnuts and halal omakase by Elfuego!

Alternatively, for something more filling, check out our Woke Ramen review if you’re in the mood for wok hei-filled ramen at Terminal 1.

Address: 78 Airport Boulevard, #01-236/237, Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore 819666
Opening hours: Daily 11am to 10pm
