Nutella is a staple in everyone’s pantry, and has grown from being a popular breakfast spread to a dessert essential. What’s even better about the spread is that it lends itself to easy home baking, so if you want to try it out for yourself and create some chocolatey, nutty delights, here are 10 Nutella recipes you ought to try.


1. 3-ingredient Nutella Brownie

Upgrade your chocolate brownies with this super easy and quick recipe for Nutella brownies, which only requires three ingredients!

Yield: 10-12 squares

Time needed: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

240g Nutella
2 eggs
85g flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175ºC.
  2. Mix all three ingredients in a large bowl till smooth.
  3. Line an 8×8 baking tray with parchment. Pour the mixture in.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool, then cut into squares to serve.

2. Nutella Mug Cake

This ooey-gooey Nutella mug cake is an ideal quick fix for a late-night dessert craving. Just make sure to not overcook it.

Yield: 1 serving

Time needed: 5 mins

Ingredients:

¼ cup Nutella
1 large egg, whisked
2 tbsp all purpose flour

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients into a mug.
  2. Microwave at 1200W for 45 seconds to 1 minute, keeping an eye on the cake to make sure it doesn’t overcook.
  3. Let the cake cool slightly before serving. You can top it with a scoop of ice cream if you wish!

3. No-Bake Nutella Bars

15 minutes is all you need to create no-bake Nutella bars that are both fudgy, and have a little bite from the graham cracker crumble.

Yield: 16 bars

Time needed: 15 mins

Ingredients:

1 sleeve of graham crackers, crushed
½ cup melted butter
1 cup icing sugar
½ cup + 6 tbsp Nutella
1 ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Mix together the crushed graham crackers, melted butter, powdered sugar, and ½ cup + 2 tbsp Nutella.
  2. Press the mix into a foil-lined 8×8 pan.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips into a glass bowl in the microwave.
  4. Spread the chocolate mix over the bars.
  5. Cover with more foil, and chill for at least two to three hours. Cut into squares to serve.

4. Nutella Cheesecake Dip

Instead of tacos and salsa, make snacktime sweet with this fuss-free Nutella cheesecake dip, that you can serve with biscuits or berries.

Yield: Feeds 12

Time needed: 15 mins

Ingredients:

1 cup heavy cream
1 8oz packet of cream cheese
3 tbsp powdered sugar
¾ cup Nutella

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream till stiff peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, about 1 minute. Add Nutella and blend until well combined.
  3. Add half of the whipped cream and gently fold the mixture until nearly blended. Then, add remaining whipped cream and gently fold the mixture until well blended. Chill, or simply serve.

5. Nutella Grilled Sandwich

Breakfast just got a whole lot better with this easy Nutella grilled sandwich recipe that results in a gooey banana-Nutella middle we can’t get enough of. Feel free to jazz it up with other ingredients like peanut butter, marshmallows, berries, and more too.

Yield: 1 sandwich

Time needed: 15 mins

Ingredients:

2 slices of bread
1-2 tbsp neutral oil or butter
3-4 tbsp Nutella
1 ripe banana

Directions:

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the unbuttered side, slather on the Nutella. On one-half of the sandwich, place slices of banana. Fold to make a sandwich.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan till hot.
  4. Place the sandwich on the pan and heat for 2-4 minutes on each side, till golden brown and crispy. Serve.

6. 2-ingredient Nutella Souffle

Souffles seem tricky to make, but not when they’re this two-ingredient Nutella souffle recipe. Just eat it right out the oven before it deflates!

Yield: 1 souffle 

Time needed: 25 mins

Ingredients:

2 eggs
1 cup Nutella

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC.
  2. Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
  3. Mix the yolks with the Nutella in one bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites till stiff peaks form. Fold the egg whites into the Nutella mixture.
  5. Butter the insides of an oven-safe mug or ramekin. Pour in the mixture. Cook for 15 minutes, and eat immediately once out the oven.

7. Nutella Stuffed Cookies

Stuffed cookies have never been easier to make than with this Nutella Stuffed Cookies recipe. Be sure to freeze scoops of the chocolate spread in advance, though, as it makes this cookie way easier to prepare.

Yield: 15 cookies

Time needed: 25 mins

Ingredients:

15 heaping tsp Nutella
115g unsalted butter
175g light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
275g flour
½ bicarbonate of soda
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp cornflour
200g finely chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Scoop heaped teaspoons of Nutella onto a lined tray, and freeze till solid. This takes an hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 190ºC.
  3. Beat butter and sugar till fluffy, and add the vanilla extract, and egg. Mix till smooth.
  4. Whisk together the flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda, and cornflour in a separate bowl. Then, add it to the wet ingredients.
  5. Add in the finely chopped chocolate and mix till combined.
  6. Scoop your cookies onto lined baking sheets, no more than six cookies per sheet. Flatten each scoop to a disc. Add a knob of frozen Nutella to the middle of each disc, and wrap the cookie dough around the knob to create a seal.
  7. Bake cookies for 11-13 minutes, or until golden. Serve.

8. No-Bake Nutella Cheesecake

Chocolate cheesecake has never been simpler than this no-bake Nutella cheesecake. Be sure to bloom your gelatin properly beforehand, though, as it really helps hold the cheesecake together and help it set.

Yield: 12 slices

Time needed: 1h 30 minutes

Ingredients:

The base:

200g Oreo cookies
60g unsalted butter

The mousse:

3 tsp gelatine powder
¼ cup water
500g cream cheese, softened
1 cup Nutella
½ cup icing sugar
1 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Butter the base of a springform or cake pan and line the pan with baking paper.
  2. Blitz the Oreo cookies to fine crumbs. Add melted butter and mix till it combined.
  3. Press the crumbs to the lined pan to create a uniform base for your cheesecake.
  4. Bloom the gelatine according to package directions.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, Nutella, and icing sugar till smooth. Add gelatine and mix for 30 seconds.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  7. Add the whipped cream to the Nutella mixture, and fold till combined.
  8. Transfer the mix to the cake pan and refrigerate for at least an hour to set. Serve.

Viral on TikTok and for good reason, these two-ingredient Nutella cookies are criminally easy to make.

Yield: 12 cookies

Time needed: 25 mins

Ingredients:

300g Nutella
150g plain flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven till 180ºC.
  2. Mix both the Nutella and the flour till smooth.
  3. Scoop onto a lined baking tray.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve.

10. Nutella Swirls

Inspired by cinnamon rolls, these super simple Nutella Swirls use premade pastry dough and Nutella to create simple, flaky, and chocolatey desserts that are sure to satisfy for teatime.

Yield: 16 swirls

Time needed: 15 mins

Ingredients:

1 sheet of pre-made puff pastry
4 tbsp Nutella
1 egg, whisked

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven till 180ºC.
  2. Roll out the sheet of puff pastry and spread Nutella on ⅔ of the sheet, across the long edge. Roll the pastry on the long side. Cut to create 16 circle swirls.
  3. Glaze with the egg wash, and bake for 20 minutes in the oven, or till golden brown.
