One Holland Village is a sprawling mall in the Holland Village area that has quickly become a foodie destination in the West. It is home to more than 47 F&B brands, including celebrated names such as Surrey Hills Grocer, Sourbombe Bakery and more.
Come 2024, the mall shows no signs of slowing, with more new F&B tenants opening in January. Keeping in theme with the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations, many of these eateries have also debuted CNY dining specials for all your festive gathering needs.
FYI for drivers, if you visit at lunchtime, parking is free from 12pm to 2pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Those looking for a unique yusheng to lou hei with during their upcoming reunion dinners can look to Ginkyō by Kinki (#03-01). Founded by popular Japanese restaurant, Kinki Restaurant + Bar, Ginkyō is a mod-Japanese bistro that spotlights unique fusion Japanese eats and set lunches.
For CNY, they’re serving up their signature Ginkyō Blissful Yu Sheng Toss ($88++), available for dine in from 1 February to 29 February. The yusheng spotlights thick cuts of Japanese sashimi, including salmon, tuna, and swordfish, finished with pops of tobiko and ikura. For added luxury, each yusheng comes with aromatic truffle oil as a dressing. You can order via their email enquiry@ginkyo.sg or call the restaurant at 6248 0943. Orders must be made three days in advance.
Save time in the kitchen and spend more time feasting with your loved ones this CNY thanks to Paradise Classic’s CNY menus (#01-33). The beloved Paradise Group restaurant is known for their wallet-friendly, homely local dishes. This year, from 22 January to 25 February, they’re launching a line-up of festive set menus for the occasion.
Prices start from $248++ for their seven-course Auspicious menu, which feeds up to four. Dishes include a Prosperity Abalone Yusheng, Steamed Dragon Grouper, and Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage. Not all the sets are available during CNY eve, so do check their menus here to be sure.
Another dine-in option to try out is Lau Wang Claypot Legacy (#02-31), the latest elevated concept from the Lau Wang brand. While they don’t have a fixed CNY menu, they do have a line-up of delicious, comforting claypot dishes, from mala and sambal claypots to nourishing herbal soups. These are great for more intimate festive gatherings.
One of their must-tries is their Sesame Oil Chicken (from $9++), featuring tender chicken thighs cooked in their signature sesame oil dressing. Spicy food lovers will surely enjoy Lau Wang’s Superior Sambal Seafood (from $18++), which stars fresh prawns, sliced fish, squid, fish maw, and whole scallops, cooked in a fiery sambal sauce that had us reaching for more water.
Hotpot is another must-have during CNY, and if you don’t feel like stressing out with hosting people at home, head down to Hippot (#02-34) instead. The popular hotpot restaurant is all about serving up delicious hotpot and ingredients at wallet-friendly prices—soup bases here start from $6.90! Kids dine free too.
Expect a wide range of classic hotpot dishes here, alongside affordable premium meat platters. Their Jumbo Platter, for instance, is just $18.90, and comes with U.S. Premium Beef, as well as Iberico Black Pork. Try some of their house specials, including their Five Colour Seafood Dumplings ($8.90)—super QQ dumplings served in five different seafood flavours! End off your meal here with the nine free desserts they have available.
For a sweet, CNY-themed treat, Taiwanese hand-shaken bubble tea stall Wushiland Boba (#02-22) has a new, limited edition Seasons of Love series that spotlights red bean. There are five drinks available in the series, each starring one of Wushiland’s signature tea bases, as well as azuki bean. The red bean is blended into the tea base to give it an earthy sweetness, and scoops of azuki are added on as a topping as well.
Flavours include their Red Bean Milk Tea (from $4.70), Red Bean Four Seasons Milk Tea (from $4.70), and Red Bean Golden Oolong Tea Latte (from $5.50). We enjoyed how the drinks were not too sweet, and filling thanks to the generous amount of red bean!
These are just the tip of the iceberg for restaurants in One Holland Village you should try this festive season, and beyond. Others worth checking out include Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen (#02-28), Din Tai Fung (#01-01), Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine (#02-19/20), LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar (#01-31), and Fong Sheng Hao (#02-37).
