The dust on Popeyes’ Chicken Sandwich has barely settled, but they’re back in the game with an all-new Cheesy Pop Chicken and Chilli Cheese Nuggets, now available in stores and online for a limited time only.

This new Cheesy Pop Chicken takes Popeyes’ spicy Cajun fried chicken, drizzles it with smoky cheddar sauce, and tops it with crunchy cheese crumbs.

If that wasn’t cheesy enough, the Chilli Cheese Nuggets seem to be pops of molten cheese with what looks like green Jalapeno peppers ─ one-up from McDonald’s Spicy McNuggets if you’re more into melty cheese centres than chicken bites.
The Chilli Cheese Nuggets are sold at $3.50 for a box of three so you can add these on to any regular order at Popeyes!

On the other hand, the Cheesy Pop Chicken doesn’t appear to be sold a la carte. The Cheesy Pop Solo Chicken set retails at $10.90, including two pieces of Cheesy Pop Chicken, a chicken Tender, two Chilli Cheese Nuggets and a can of Pepsi.

You can also enjoy Popeyes’ Cheesy Pop Chicken in a Cheesy Pop Bundle Meal ($24.90), or a Cheesy Pop Platter ($30.90), which are good for sharing.

According to the online ordering system, you’re also able to choose two pieces of Spicy and two pieces of Mild Cajun fried chicken for the Cheesy Pop Chicken, or opt for all four pieces in either Spicy or Mild! If you’re thinking of ordering the Cheesy Pop Chicken for kids, this Platter seems to be the best option.
Do note, too, that the Cheesy Pop Platter doesn’t come with Chilli Cheese Nuggets, so you would have to add those on the side if you’re looking to have them.
There’s no word on how long these new items will be on the menu for, but the Chicken Sandwich only had a run of two weeks, so it’s probably wise to make a dash to Popeyes soon.
For more cheesy things, Spuds in Midpoint Orchard does rainbow cheese fries, and Egg Taste in West Coast has a chocolate and cheese egg bread.
Otherwise, you could try making your own mentaiko mac and cheese in the rice cooker!
