From DIY bibimbap to customised acai bowls, there’s been plenty of new build-your-own F&B concepts popping up around the island. Now, you can get the same thing with your next bag of Doritos, as Shell Select will be launching its new Doritos Overload bowls, customisable with a variety of tasty sauces, meat, veggies and more!
As part of the ongoing revamp of their Shell Select stores, these DIY bowls will be rolled out at five Shell petrol kiosks—Sengkang, Choa Chu Kang, Boon Lay, Siglap, and Havelock—from 15 April 2026. Thereafter, you’ll be able to find them at 20 more locations, starting 1 May 2026.
To start, simply head to the chips aisle and pick out your preferred bag of Doritos. Each flavour comes in two sizes, small ($2.50 for 66g) and large ($5.95 for 170g).
There were several flavours available on our visit, including Taco, Smokin’ BBQ, Spicy Nacho, and the OG Nacho Cheese. As recommended by the staff, we went with the latter.
FYI, if you aren’t a fan of Doritos, you can also customise any of their other chip brands, at no additional cost.
Next, make your way to the in-house Shell Cafe to zhng up your bag of chips with one of three toppings: Bolognese, Tuna, or Guacamole. On top of the price of the chips, each topping costs $3 for a small bag and $5.50 for a large bag, no matter the flavour. In total, this comes to $5.50 for a small portion and $11.45 for a large portion. Do note that the bowls will be prepared by staff, due to hygiene reasons.
While a tad pricey, the hefty serving sizes were enough to fill us up. That said, you can also top up $1 for an extra scoop of liao.
Our favourite topping had to be the Guacamole. The light flavours of the earthy guac and creamy mayo paired perfectly with the cheesy Doritos chips.
We also enjoyed the Tuna, featuring a scoop of rich and creamy tuna mayo, topped with a drizzle of sour cream and an oozy mix of mozzarella and cheddar. The creamy texture of this combo was a nice contrast to the crunchy tortilla chips!
The Bolognese is another great option, starring a meaty, flavourful sauce with ground beef and tangy tomato, paired with baked beans, creamy mayo, and a subtly spicy tomato salsa.
Besides the bowls, several revamped Shell Select stores will also feature an expanded menu, complete with freshly brewed coffee and pastries. Do note that these will only be available at their Sengkang and Boon Lay locations for now, with plans for future expansion.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on their Tiramisu Frappe ($7/$7.80), blending espresso with sweetened milk, vanilla, and cocoa powder. Otherwise, go for their refreshing Mocha Frappe ($7/$7.80): a chocolatey drink blending bitter espresso with cocoa powder and milk.
A quick heads up: they do not provide any dine-in seating, due to regulatory requirements. There are, however, several standing tables available for customers to enjoy a quick bite.
