This Kallang Stall Has Vietnamese Panna Cotta, Shaved Ice And More From $3.50

So Sweet Of You in Kallang has Vietnamese-style desserts

Many Singaporeans have a liking for Vietnamese food, and there are plenty of eateries to dine at whenever our cravings creep in—cue Miss Saigon and Co Hai Banh Mi. But this isn’t so much the case for desserts—or at least that was what we thought, until we chanced upon So Sweet Of You, which offers unique Vietnamese-style desserts. The hawker stall is also a 10-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT Station!

Similar to bobo cha cha, their Young Coconut ($3.90) is inspired by the Vietnamese dessert, che thung. Typically, a bowl of che thung comprises a coconut milk base with chunks of taro, beans, and tapioca strips. You’l find similar ingredients in Young Coconut, but without beans. Also, you get a generous layer of coconut meat and handmade tapioca strip jellies in this refreshing dessert! We reckon this is a must-try for coconut lovers as the combination of creamy coconut milk and smooth coconut flesh can never go wrong.

Next, there’s the Pana Cota ($4.50), which is known as che khuc bach in Vietnam. This dessert is essentially a Vietnamese-style panna cotta consisting of bite-sized panna cotta jelly, fresh lychee, and sliced almond in jasmine water.

Fans of durian must give their MSW Durian ($6.90) a try. This satisfying bowl of dessert features jackfruit, longans, panna cotta jelly, and of course, a handful of creamy durian submerged in coconut milk.

The menu also sees familiar desserts, such as Taiwanese shaved ice. This comes in a variety of flavours, such as Strawberry ($6.90), Taro ($5.90), Lychee ($6.90), and Matcha ($5.90).

If you’d like to get a quick drink on the go, you can opt for their Vietnam sinh AKA avocado shake instead. There are five flavours in total: Mango Sinhto ($4.50), Strawberry Sinhto ($4.90), Banana Sinhto ($3.90), Jackfruit Sinhto ($4.50), and Avocado Sinhto ($4.90).
