If you’re a Katong resident, you might be familiar Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant’s first location in Joo Chiat. They’ve been around for a long while, and are known to regulars for serving unpretentious, authentic Vietnamese fare at reasonable prices.

The menu is extensive, with familiar highlights such as the Special Noodle Soup ($11.90), a meaty medley of meatballs, beef slices, brisket and more, accompanied by silky rice noodles.

They also have their popular Spring Rolls ($12), deep-fried till shatteringly crisp on the outside. It’s served with a sweet dipping sauce on the side to cut through the greasiness.

Those who love banh mi can try their Spicy Beef Stew with Baguette (price TBD): a rich and flavourful stew paired with a fresh baguette for dipping.

If you’ve been to Vietnam before, you might be familiar with Vietnamese-style dry noodle dishes topped with various types of meat. Long Phung is said to serve a solid Bun Thit Nuong (price TBD): grilled pork slices on a bed of rice noodles and fresh veggies, complete with a refreshingly sweet and tangy dressing.

As the restaurant is still rather new, their full menu and prices are not yet available. We’ll update this story once we get more details.
