Spize Temasek Club Has A Wagyu Croissant Burger Till 1 Mar 2020

Spize creates Singapore’s first croissant burger

From now till 1 March 2020, the Croburg ($23.90++) is available at Spize’s Temasek Club branch. This delightful croissant burger is an original creation of the eatery.

The Croburg uses a patty that’s made from 400 Days Grain Fed Australian Wagyu beef. A blend of 80% lean meat and 20% fat is used to make the patty—the golden ratio for most burgers. The patty is then seasoned with smoked salt, before being seared. No artificial flavours are added to the mix, which allows the Wagyu’s rich flavours to be highlighted.

Haresh Sabnani, owner and chef at Spize’s Temasek Club outlet, was inspired to use a croissant as the bun, due to its intense butteriness. He and his team eventually managed to come up with this unique recipe.

This burger bun is coined the ‘Rose Croissant’ due to its rosette-like shape. It’s folded and compressed within a mould to achieve the spiral shape. The end result is a croissant bun that’s denser than most others, with a flaky and crispy exterior. This burger also contains a sunny side up egg, caramelised onions, cheddar cheese, and truffle aioli, making for a savoury and juicy sandwich.

Each order of the burger also comes with a side of curly fries and mesclun salad.
