Look, we know matcha may not be the trendiest anymore—perhaps it’s fatigue from the countless matcha cafes that opened in Singapore. But a cafe that sends you off with a petite floral bouquet alongside your drink? You’ll only find this at Studio Frond, a fresh new botanical matcha bar in Joo Chiat.

Here, your matcha is served in a tray that also holds your floral arrangement—you get to craft it all by yourself!

The standard floral arrangement kit starts from $15, and comes with a floral base, a focal, and an accent flower. The floral selection rotates weekly, and you can expect the likes of Spider Chrysanthemums and Rose Lilies. Additional flowers for your arrangement are priced at $3 each.

Being a speciality matcha bar, the drinks served here are no slouches as well. Choose from three different variants of tea: Frond Matcha #01 from Zhejiang, China, Frond Matcha #02 from Uji, Japan, and Frond Hojicha #03 from Fukuoka, Japan.

Then, choose how your tea will be done, starting with the classic Usucha (from $6.50) that allows the tea to breathe in just water, and the Latte (from $7)—the quintessential drink for performative males.

Notably, their speciality creations are rather interesting. The White Corn (from $9.50) comes with cold-pressed white corn juice and milk for a light and refreshing drink, while the Miso Butterscotch (from $8) uses their housemade miso sauce for a deep and savoury experience.

Other speciality drinks include the Pink Coconut (from $8) and the Black Sesame Cloud (from $8). If you’re not a fan of matcha, Studio Frond has got you covered with their seasonal Iced Pour-Over Coffee ($7) and seasonal Cold Brew Tea ($6).
