Bak chor mee fans, we have good news! Tai Wah Pork Noodle has recently launched a new outlet at Holland Drive. This marks their seventh outlet since their Bedok branch opened in August 2021! The outlet at Holland Drive has been in operation since 20 November 2021, so if you happen to be within the area, and craving a bowl of bak chor mee, consider trying Tai Wah Pork Noodle.Â

If the name Tai Wah Pork Noodle rings a bell, that’s because they’re the well-known bak chor mee stall situated at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre. That was the sole outlet in Singapore since 2003, and it wasn’t until this year that they began expanding their business.Â
It is run by the nephew of the hawker behind Crawford Lane’s Michelin-starred bak chor mee stall—Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodles. Do note that both of these stalls are independent of one another even though they have strikingly similar menus and feature the same ingredients. What makes them different lies within their secret sauce mix for their dry bak chor mee.Â

For first-timers, we recommend going for the largest bowl, dry, with the addition of chilli, to make it worth your wait. You can expect a bowl of noodles, doused in a special mix of sauces, vinegar, lard oil and chilli. Atop are slices of pork liver, pork, minced meat, and fried sole fish. That’s not all, it also comes with a generous bowl of pork-based soup on the side, with pork balls and pork dumplings.Â
If you are wondering how to get to Tai Wah Pork Noodle, simply alight at Buona Vista MRT Station, and take a short six-minute walk to Chang Cheng Mee Wah coffeeshop. There, you’ll also be able to find familiar names such as Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun and King of Pao Fan too!Â
For more food around the area, check out The Headless Baker for a sweet treat after the meal, or Monki Cafe for a Taiwanese fare.Â
