Tanuki Raw’s OG Orchard Central outlet opened in 2012, and till today, locals flock there for their range of gourmet donburi. It can get a tad bit pricey to dine there though, and it’s usually saved for an occasional treat rather than an everyday meal. To combat that, Tanuki Raw has launched a range of affordable lunch sets at their Funan, Orchard Central, and Cross Street Exchange outlets.

This promo is available every weekday, from 11:30am to 3pm. Each lunch set comes with a salad, miso soup, and green tea. At a flat rate of $12.90++ per set, there are five types of donburi to choose from. These include the Soboro Beef, Garlic Butter Chicken, and Salmon Katsu Curry Don.

They’re regular fixtures on the menu, and mind you, they usually cost $14.90++ to $17.90++; that’s just the a la carte lunch pricing! Upgrading to a lunch set with the components we mentioned above usually requires a top-up of $3++. Which means that with this lunch set promo, you can score a meal that costs up to $20.90++ for just $12.90++. More cash left over for a coffee or bubble tea before you head back to the office!

Another “premium” option that will bag you the most value for money is the vegetarian option, a Vegetable Kakiage Curry Don. It’s also usually priced at $17.90++ outside of the lunch promo, and goes up to $19.90++ for an a la carte order during Tanuki Raw’s dinner service.

Beyond the menu’s regular items, the lunch set promo also introduces a new donburi: Mentaiko Roasted Seaweed And Salmon Don. This features tender seared salmon pieces, a creamy and savoury aburi mentaiko sauce, and shredded roasted seaweed for an excellent texture, aroma, and touch of brine when mixed in.

The next time you’re in town or the CBD area and are stumped on what to get for lunch, head to one of Tanuki Raw’s three participating outlets for their affordable lunch sets. Considering that the a la carte donburi during dinner sessions are priced up to $19.90++—without the soup, salad, and drink accompaniments—you can enjoy the same delicious rice bowl at way better value just by dining on weekdays from 11:30am to 3pm.
