Every weekday, streams of office ladies and gentlemen raid the area looking for grub to fuel them for the day ahead. From the quick and cheap to the payday splurge, here are 18 best Raffles Place food places that will cater to any budget.


1. Tsukimi Hamburg


If you’re looking for a satisfying meal in the CBD that doesn’t break the bank, head to Tsukimi Hamburg on the first floor of CapitaSpring. Here you’ll find legit Wagyu hamburg sets priced under $20, including the signature Tsukimi Hamburg Don ($14.80): short-grain rice with a 180g handmade patty made of US beef, pork, and Miyazaki Wagyu.

This is topped with grated radish and a raw Japanese egg yolk for added creaminess, along with a side of Homemade Tamago Soup.

Otherwise, if you’re out to splurge, treat yourself to the Truffle Omuburg Teishoku ($19.80). Served on a hotplate, this main comes with a creamy omelette on paired with a pork hamburg steak, finished with a generous dollop of truffle cream.

2. Soup Cup


For a fuss-free meal that doesn’t sacrifice on flavour, check out Soup Cup, a six-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT Station. Started by an ex-MasterChef Singapore finalist, this kiosk specialises in fish soup that’s pakced with flavour, sans MSG.

Their Signature Seafood Soup ($13) is loaded with liao, namely grouper slices, clams, pork, prawns, and squid.  During our visit, we found the broth slightly sweet with a rich umami taste, thanks to the eight hours of slow cooking.

If you’re not feeling that peckish, they also offer a Piccolo ($4) size that’s served in a cute coffee cup!

3. Golden Nur


A mere three minutes by foot from Raffles Place MRT Station is Market Street Hawker Centre, which houses plenty of affordable and delicious eats. One such is Golden Nur, a family-run stall known for their Crispy Chicken Biryani ($6.50).

Only served during lunch, each portion gets you a deep-fried chicken leg that’s well-marinated, boasting a crispy crust and tender meat. This is paired with fluffy basmati rice that’s cooked with a variety of aromatics, and a bowl of curry on the side for you to enjoy.

If you’re visiting for breakfast or dinner instead, try their Roti Prata, priced at just $1.20 for plain and $1.70 for egg.

4. Sol & Luna


Located nearby is Sol & Luna, a pretty European restaurant perched on the 17th floor of CapitaSpring. The CBD spot offers well-priced lunch sets with a view, at $42++ per person for a two-course meal, or $48++ for three.

For mains, choose the House-Made Raviolini, cooked with a hazenut butter sauce and topped with fried sage. Otherwise, go light with a fish instead; the Sea Bass ‘A La Plancha’, served with ratatouille and roasted shimeji mushrooms, is an excellent option.

5. Kinber Kopi

Kinber Kopi, a five-minute stroll from Raffles Place MRT Station, is another hidden gem in the CBD. Those on a budget can check out their assortment of sandwiches, affordably priced from just $2.90. Popular picks include the Omelette with Bacon Sandwich ($4.90) and Tuna & Egg Mayo Sandwich ($2.90). There’s even an interesting Taro with Pork Floss ($4.90) flavour, which features buttered toast sandwiching orh nee paste, paired with savoury pork floss! If you’re visiting for lunch, try their range of rice sets that are all under $8.

6. Whiskdom


Fans of Whiskdom can now get their lava cookies and muffins at the homegrown bakery’s One Raffles Place outlet! The takeaway kiosk offers the brand’s famous bakes that come with a molten filling, including popular flavours such as Matcha Lava Cookie and Salted Dark Chocolate Brownie. Each piece is priced at $6.50, but you can also get them in a box of six at $38.

You’ll also find a good range of loaded bagels to sort your savoury cravings. We recommend the Truffle Beef Steak ($14.90), packed with onions, ribeye slices, and truffle aioli.

7. Humble Bakery


Another One Raffles Place must-visit is Humble Bakery, a scone specialty cafe opened by ex-Bakery Brera bakers. If it’s your first time here, try their Original Scone ($3.30), a classic tea-time snack that’s best enjoyed warm.

Their Peanut Mochi ($4.80) is another popular flavour that pairs crunchy peanut paste and QQ mochi with a buttery scone base. Otherwise, their Earl Grey & Fig Scone ($3.50) is great as a mid-afternoon treat, too. Pair your scones with a cup of barista-brewed Latte ($5) or Mocha ($5.50)!

8. 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist

Here’s a not-so-secret secret: 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist is a unanimous favourite among the EB team! Helmed by an ex-restaurant chef, this popular stall has expanded to the CBD. Their latest Far East Square outlet boasts over 100 seats with a comfortable air-conditioned setting.

You’ll find the eatery’s signatures here, from their Roasted Pork + Char Siew + Roasted Duck Rice ($11) to their Premium Char Siew Wanton Noodle ($6.50). if you’re visiting in a group, get a Large ($30) meat platter to share!

9. Phat Fingers


Popular fried chicken chain Phat Fingers has an outlet in the CBD, a five-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT Station. Here you’ll be treated to Korean-style fried chicken served in a variety of dishes, from hearty rice bowls to burgers.

Their Nuclear Spicy Xtra Hot Burger ($8.99) is a must-try if you’re into spicy food. This chunky sandwich stars a huge slab of crispy chicken thigh that’s soaked in a spicy-sweet sauce, topped with house-made kimchi slaw for added crunch. For something less fiery, try the Psy’s Famous Chicken Burger ($8.99), which comes with a bulgogi glaze instead.

10. Project Acai


Acai fans would be familiar with this next entry. Project Acai, which has been around since 2015, has many outlets across Singapore, including one at Lau Pa Sat. The medium Original Flower Bowl ($9.90) is ideal for days you don’t want an overly filling lunch, or if you’re in the mood for a pick-me-up during office hours.

We visited the CBD outlet during our hunt for the best acai bowls in Singapore, but sadly, found Project Acai’s base rather icy and grainy. Nonetheless, the flavour of the acai was delicious, as with the granola topping!

11. Salmon Samurai

Salmon Samurai offers affordable and value-for-money salmon donburi. A sister restaurant of Tanuki Raw, they target hungry office workers who have little time but want a hearty to-go meal.

At just $15.90, you can customise and create your bowl of Sockeye Bowl, which comes with one base, one deluxe topping, two standard toppings, and one salmon topping: sashimi, salmon mentaiko, garlic shoyu, salmon poke, or spicy salmon poke. Sliced fresh every day, the salmon sashimi here is a popular option.

12. Gochi-So Shokudo

This list isn’t complete without a mention of Gochi-So Shokudo, a casual Japanese restaurant with a wide range of menu items such as rice bowls, steak, tonkatsu, and kaisendon. The most popular orders here are from the Charcoal Grill Iberico Don range. Highlights include the Iberico Black Char Siew Don ($11.50++), which stars juicy strips of char siew-style Iberico pork atop a bed of short-grain rice, complete with an onsen egg. The meat is also available as an a la carte sharing side for $13.80++!

13. The Providore

The Providore in Raffles Place is a unique glasshouse cafe that is also their flagship café-cum-retail outlet. They serve breakfa from 8am to 11:30am on weekdays, sandwiches from 11:30am to 5pm, salads and mains from 11:30am to 10pm, along with all-day pastries for a quick snack or takeaway. Popular orders here include the Club Sandwich ($22.50++) and Lobster Mac & Cheese ($31.50++). Another crowd favourite is the Roasted Chicken Leg ($32.50+), which comes with couscous and a house-made aubergine chutney.

14. Surrey Hills Deli


For a midweek lunch treat, visit Surrey Hills Deli, a two-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT Station. The Australian-inspired sandwich shop is known for their stacked sarnies, in flavours such as Hendurance ($18++): white sourdough with French poulet ham, romaine lettuce, roasted sweet potato, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, Caesar dressing, and a fried egg. There’s also the Oppor-tuna-ty ($18++) AKA tuna melt if you’re in the mood for fish.

Wash it all down with an Espresso Sparkling ($7++), a refreshing coffee beverage infused with sparkling water.

15. Souperstar


Soup might be in their name, but the real stars in Souperstar are actually the healthy fusion popiah. Building from their family popiah business, the sister-owners started out Souperstar selling popiah wraps and soups, branching to salads and sandwiches later on.

The popiah wraps are handmade fresh daily, and come in a variety of flavours with the Sesame Chicken ($5.20) as the darling of the bunch. If you’re going low-carb, opt for salads or hearty soups such as Creamy Tomato Basil and Souper Shroomy. The soups come in three sizes: Small ($4.50), Medium ($5.90), and Large ($7.80). But mind you, all the soups are quite indulgentnot the best for a diet.

16. Gado & Grill

For filling Indonesian fare at hawker prices, head to Gado & Grill. They have a small branch at One Raffles Place with a simple menu of only six dishes including Gado Gado ($6.20+) and Ayam Penyet ($7.20+). Their GadoMie ($6.50+) is their most popular dish featuring Indomie-style noodles served with gado gado staples: meat, a sunny side egg, prawn chips and greens. For an extra $2, you can make this into a meal with a choice of Teh Botol or Honey Lime Juice. There’s no service charge if you decide to eat in, but there are only a few seats at the outlet, so it’s best to get takeaway.

17. Haakon

Haakon has an ambitious menu ranging from poke bowls, salads, and protein platters to soba noodles, acai bowls and even brunch dishes. Fans love their Mentaiko Salmon Poke Bowl ($14.90) and Chicken Chipotle Burrito Bowl ($12.90) for lunch. 

If you’re in the mood for something lighter, try their Classic Acai Bowl, available in two sizes: Regular ($8.90) and Large ($13.90). We found their acai base pleasant with an earthy aftertaste, pairing well with the creamy chia seed pudding.

18. The Daily Cut

This inconspicuous salad joint is quiet by design. Minimalist in nature, the shop has no signboard or people to take your order. You simply have to tick all that you want on their paper menu and hand it over to the people behind the counter.  Each order starts with a bowl size (from $10.50) with varying amounts of base, protein, supplements (vegetables and grains), toppings and dressings. Some popular fillings include roast beef (+$1.80), maple dijon roasted carrots (+$1.50), and baked tempeh.
