Old Chang Kee has been on a roll lately, and this Mid-Autumn Festival, they’re giving a playful twist on the crowd-pleasing Salted Egg Taro’O. The new seasonal item, Salted Egg Taro Mochi’O, comes with a stretchy mochi layer, along with the well-loved orh nee and salted egg fillings, encased in a flower-shaped puff pastry that nods to the mooncake. You can get it at all Old Chang Kee outlets for just $3.80 for one piece and $6.80 for two.

Previously, the Salted Egg Taro’O was well received for its addictive combination of sweet, creamy taro filling and savoury salted egg centre. In the Salted Egg Taro Mochi’O, the new mochi layer adds a QQ texture that contrasts against all the other elements: crispy crust, earthy orh nee, and briney salted egg yolk.

The round flower pattern pays homage to an old-school mooncake, giving customers a convenient yet affordable alternative to celebrate the tradition. What’s more, the Salted Egg Taro Mochi’O is also halal, so Muslim customers can enjoy it.

The Salted Egg Taro Mochi’O is only available for a limited time from 1 September to 30 September 2026, while stocks last, so it’s worth picking it up sooner to avoid disappointment. They can also be ordered on food delivery platforms GrabFood and foodpanda.
