The Local Meets Global Food Fair is the mall’s first-ever food fair. It’s happening at the Main Atrium and boasts a whopping total of 14 stalls.

Tuck into both local and international eats, including Thai Fried Banana ($4 for six), as well as Fried Sweet Potato Balls (price TBD), great for snacking on the go.

Another popular kiosk is Golden Bee Street Food, which we previously featured in our Tampines Baazar Lambak story. At this Tiong Bahru food fair, you can look forward to similar snacks such as the Lobster Mentai Okonomiyaki ($6.80), starring charred mentaiko, tobiko, and lobster bits on a Japanese pancake. They also have Sotong Takoyaki ($4) if you want something more classic!

Should you want something more substantial, make a beeline to Spuds Shack. If the name of the kiosk sounds familiar, that’s because they were previously a hawker stall in Geylang.

The Torched Mentaiko Rosti ($8.50) is a best-seller here, and we can see why. You get crispy, housemade rosti drizzled with aburi-ed mentaiko sauce, and finished with a fried egg on the side.

Alternatively, go for the Cajun Seaweed Rosti ($7) instead. When we tried the stall last year, we enjoyed this rosti for its crispy exterior and fluffy middle.

Round up the feast with ChubTuTu‘s tutu kueh, available in an assortment of unique flavours including Nutella ($4 for five), Durian ($5 for five), and Chilli Crab ($5 for five). Or, for something more old-school, get their Peanut or Coconut tutu kueh at $3.50 for five pieces.

There are plenty more noteworthy kiosks to check out at Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Local Meets Global Food Fair, so make sure you head down by 16 August!

Another food fair worth checking out is Taiwan Night Markets, a new Taiwanese food court in the heart of Orchard. Otherwise, if you’re feeling Thai, check out our Thai Supermarket guide for must-try snacks at Aperia Mall!
