If you’re crazy about Thai milk tea, consider heading down to Tom Yum Mama, a Thai restaurant in Upper Thomson that has an extra large portion of the drink. To be exact, their more than generously sized Hero Thai Milk Tea is ten times the size of a regular cup of Thai milk tea!
This supersized drink retails for $19.90++ which is reasonable. Considering that it can serve up to 10 people, this means it costs just around $1.99 per person. FYI: their regular Thai Milk Tea costs $3.90++, so this is a pretty solid deal if you ask me!
The beverage is served in a humongous glass which comes up to easily a third of the average person’s height. You can imagine that the sight of anyone drinking from it looks pretty comical. Nevertheless, if you’re a pretty huge fan of Thai milk tea, Tom Yum Mama’s oversized take does not disappoint.
For an even more value-for-money deal, you can also get this XXL Thai milk tea for just $9.90++ with an order of any four mains.
If this is your first time at the restaurant, you have to try their Signature Claypot Tom Yum Mama ($15.90++). The hearty dish is composed of prawns, squid, clams, pork belly, egg, and noodles sitting in a fragrant and lightly spicy tom yum broth—reminiscent of the famous Jeh O’ Chula tom yum noodles from Thailand.
Other mains you can choose from include fried rice, rice bowls, and noodle dishes such as Pineapple Fried Rice (from $7.90++), Roasted Pork Kaprao Rice Bowl ($9.90++), and Signature Wonton Noodles ($6.90++), among others.
TomYum Mama is a one-minute walk from Upper Thomson MRT Station.
