Tori Sanwa To Open At Great World, Get Famous Oyako Don Here

Tori Sanwa to open new outlet in Great World

In early August 2023, Tori Sanwa officially launched their first outlet in Singapore at Raffles City.  Not long after, they have returned with yet another good news: a second outlet will be opening in Great World soon! In case you didn’t know, this Japanese eatery is a famed name with more than 120 years of history, and they are best known for their oyako don.

One of our team members spotted the brand hoarding recently at the basement of the mall. The new branch is said to be launching end-September 2023.

If it’s your first time here, get their signature Oyako Don ($12.90++) or Aburi Oyako Don ($14.90++). The star ingredients of this dish are the umami-infused egg and slightly charred chicken thigh meat. It’s smoky, salty, and sweet all at once.

Another must-try is their Chicken Teriyaki Hitsumabushi ($15.90++), which features Japanese rice topped with sweet teriyaki chicken slices. Teriyaki chicken may end up too sweet and soggy when done wrong, but rest assured that you get a good balance of caramelised skin and tender, savoury meat here.

If you find that the dish gets a tad salty over time, mix it with some dashi to mellow out the strong flavours.

To go along with your mains, there’s the Tsukune ($5.90++) which makes for a great sharing dish. You get three chunks of succulent and mildly sweet chicken meatballs!
