Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen Opens In Serangoon Gardens With Legit Kolo Mee And More

Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen is now open in myVillage

Kolo mee is addictive, with its springy, curly egg noodles, moreish, shallot oil-laced sauce, and minced meat toppings. Recent years have seen the opening of kolo mee speciality stalls run by Sarawak natives, and Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen is no exception—and they don’t just serve kolo mee and Sarawak laksa!

Previously found in Bukit Merah, Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen later moved to Geylang, where you’ll still find them, though they’ve recently also set up shop in none other than myVillage, in Serangoon Gardens. Unlike their hawker stall in Geylang, this Serangoon outpost is a standalone eatery, and has outlet-exclusive dishes too.

Of course, you might want to start with the classics, and Tracy’s Original Sarawak Kolo Mee w/ Char Siew ($5.80) is a good place to begin. Crispy pork lard is free for all here, and you can help yourself to as much of it as you like.

Exclusive to myVillage is a new item: Luxury Kuching Kolo Mee ($12.80), which luxes up the regular noodles with the addition of Hakka Braised Pork ($9.80), mini abalone and prawns.

You can also enjoy the braised pork as a part of 3 In 1 ($8.80), a combo-dish of stir-fried cekur manis, AKA mani cai or moneycai, as it’s known at Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen, and a sunny side-up on rice.

On that note, Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen is known for her Stir-Fried Moneycai w/ Eggs ($9.80), a dish which you don’t see very often—we typically know mani cai as the vegetable that comes in our ban mian, and that’s about it.

If you resolved to eat more veg this 2024, consider ordering Moneycai Longevity Noodles ($8.80), which sees mee sua fried into the mix of vegetables and egg, sprinkled with crushed pork lard to serve.

Reviewers also love Tomato Wok Hey Kuey Teow ($8.80), which is said to live up to the wok hei in its name. Instead of the usual wat dan, or silken egg gravy, this sees a tomato-based version that’s meant to be tangy and appetising. If hor fun isn’t your thing, there’s a Tomato Crispy Noodle ($8.80) iteration too.

FYI, the Sarawak Laksa is priced at $8.80 a serve; her version is said to be creamier with a thicker finish than the average bowl of similar noodles. It comes topped with shredded chicken, fried strips of beancurd, and fresh prawns.

ICYMI, Celine’s Gelato has also just opened in myVillage! Otherwise, Meow Mee in Geylang also serves authentic bowls of Sarawak kolo mee, as well as Sarawak laksa.
