As a fan of Italian cuisine, I could barely contain my excitement upon being assigned to cover this pizzeria. Award-winning Vincenzo Capuano has recently launched a bottomless weekday lunch buffet, La Vita É Bella, serving up authentic Italian fare. For $28++ per person, enjoy a 90-minute four-course buffet comprising free-flow starters, handcrafted pastas, world-class Neapolitan pizzas, and gelato. The buffet is available from Monday to Friday between 11:30am to 3:30pm, with the last seating at 2pm.
Located along Robertson Quay, the restaurant ranked 13th on the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains list in 2025, so you know they mean business. With over 20 years of experience, the third-generation piazzaiolo is helmed by Chef Vincenzo himself, specialising in contemporary Neapolitan Pizza. The brand prides itself on its long-leavened and well-hydrated dough, creating puffy, charred edges and a distinctively chewy crust.
We started with the Cotoletta di Pollo, a comforting schnitzel-like dish consisting of baked chicken thigh, layered with decadent fior di latte, AKA buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano, and basil.
The chicken remained crispy on the outside and tenderly juicy on the inside, hitting a good meat-to-cheese ratio. Though it looks heavy, the tangy tomato sauce and slight bitterness from the arugula helped cut through the sauce’s richness, complementing the moist chicken well.
Moving on to the award-winning pizza—the massive spread caught our eye immediately, and of course we had to try all three flavours. Meat lovers would love the Diavola Alla Nonno Enzo: think elevated pepperoni pizza, topped with Vincenzo’s signature tomato sauce, Salsa di Pomodoro, fior di latte cheese, spicy Napoli salami, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
Upon taking the first bite, the savoury salami flavour instantly hit, followed by the tang of tomato sauce and melty cheese. While the salami was a tad salty for my liking, it may suit those with a heavier palate.
For a lighter option, go for the Pesto Basilico, starring fresh basil pesto layered with refreshing vine tomatoes. It’s also topped with pine nuts for an extra crunch. FYI, the pizza dough is made with Nuvola Super Flour, a made-in-Naples brand and fermented for up to 30 hours. The pizza dough leaned towards the thin side and was a bit too soggy for my liking, though it does leave more room for seconds.
My favourite flavour has got to be the Aglio Olio E Pizza Cartwheel. Each bite was garlic galore, followed by the subtle yet spicy kick from the chilli padi, a W for garlic and chilli lovers like myself.
I highly recommend their Ravioli Al Porcini, stuffed generously with porcini mushrooms and doused in a silky smooth truffle cream sauce. I liked that the sauce was creamy without being cloying, while the basil oil added a pleasant floral flavour. The ravioli skin was also impressively thin, allowing the filling and sauce to shine.
On top of that, they also have the Mezze Maniche E Mulignana, featuring eggplant as the main ingredient, making this dish vegetarian-friendly. The dish featured al dente pasta that was evenly coated in their tangy Salsa di Pomodoro sauce, paired with ricotta, basil, and eggplant.
No meal would be complete without a sweet treat, and their gelato did not disappoint. Both the Pistachio and Chocolate flavours were equally creamy, and the fragrant nuttiness and rich cocoa flavour marked the perfect end to our meal.
Despite being highly acclaimed, Vincenzo Capuano maintains a cosy and welcoming vibe with its dimly lit, warm lighting—perfect for date night or a nice meal with the fam. The restaurant can seat more than 30 diners comfortably at once, with high chairs available if you prefer sitting by the bar. The tables outside also offer a nice breeze and view of the river, elevating the overall dining experience.
A plus point would be its central location, located a 10-minute walk away from Fort Canning MRT Station.
All in all, Vincenzo Capuano is a solid Italian restaurant, and I would come back for the ravioli and gelato alone. The weekday lunch buffet is definitely a bang for your buck, worth trying out with your lunch kakis or loved ones.
