National Day is coming, and there are few better ways to celebrate being Singaporean than feasting on good food. Homegrown dim sum restaurant, Yum Cha, is exactly where it’s at if you’re planning to dine in the name of patriotism, because they have a slew of National Day-related promotions coming up for all you dim sum lovers, including buffet deals and exclusive dim sum made specifically for the occasion!Â
The first promotion to get excited about is their exclusive National Day Set Menu. This is available all day and priced at $59++ per person. Each set gets you eight different items, including three seasonal dim sum, one soup, three mains, and a dessert. This promotion runs from 1 July to 30 September.
Here’s what $59++ gets you.
The meal starts off with an inventive trio of dim sum dishes that are a nod to Singapore’s food heritage: Otak Siew Mai, perfumed with lemongrass and spice, Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao, where the classic pork broth is swapped out for a peppery BKT soup, and Chilli Crab Bao, loaded with chilli crab’s classic spicy tomato sauce, and bits of crab meat. These are also available for order separately.
Given Singaporeans’ love for chilli crab as well as Sichuan flavours, the dim sum follows with a Hot & Sour Crab Meat Soup—fiery, sweet, and oh-so-comforting.Â
Next, the spice train continues with the Claypot Assam Prawn, a Peranakan favourite.Â
Stir-fried Bamboo Shoots with Celery follows as a delicious way to eat your greens. Finally, carb up with Stir-fried HK Noodles with Assorted Seafood.Â
The meal ends on a light, refreshing note with a Grass Jelly in Black Glutinous Rice dessert.
If it’s just dim sum you want, then good news! Yum Cha is also offering promotions for army personnel to enjoy 1-for-1 deals on their Weekday Dim Sum or Weekday Dinner Buffet. Typically priced at $32.80++ per person, the buffet comes with 60 different dishes, ranging from traditional to contemporary dim sum items.
This 1-for-1 deal is meant to honour army personnel who continue to serve the country. To enjoy the promotion, head down to either Yum Cha outlet with ID that proves you’re an active member of the SAF to enjoy the deal.
Note that the 1-for-1 option is only available for the first 10 army personnel who visit Yum Cha each day. Don’t sweat it if you’re not one of the first 10 though, as all subsequent SAF patrons can still enjoy 20% off the Weekday Buffet menu.Â
Finally, promotions are valid for walk-ins only, so no online bookings will be accepted for promotion redemptions. More T&Cs can be found here.
Those looking to head to Yum Cha to celebrate a special occasion, such as birthdays or a date night, here’s a well-kept secret we’re sharing: the restaurant has a $100++ per person Omakase Dim Sum menu available that you can request via call or email.Â
You can enjoy these buffets and other promotions at the two Yum Cha outlets in Singapore, one located in Chinatown, and another in Changi Business Park.Â
If you’re bringing the celebration home, Yum Cha also has Yum Cha Express, a delivery service where you can get piping hot dim sum and bento boxes delivered to your doorstep—something to consider if you’re looking for a meal to accompany your National Day Parade viewing party at home!
