In this economy, we’re always on the lookout for tasty food deals, so you can imagine how happy we were when we stumbled across 131 Mookata’s $19.90 buffet. Located in Paya Lebar and Jalan Besar, this popular mookata stall offers over 50 ingredients, including seafood, marinated meat, veggies and more. Better yet, prices here are nett!

131 Mookata’s Buffet is available daily, from 12pm to 12am at their Kelantan Road outlet in Jalan Besar, and 3pm to 12am at their Jiale Kopitiam branch in Paya Lebar. There’s a two-hour time limit, which means you can chill, chat, and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Do note that the buffet requires a minimum of two diners.

The ingredients are topped up regularly, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on their popular items.

A crowd favourite here is the Australian Crayfish, praised for its large, tender, and meaty flesh.

Apart from the crayfish, you can also indulge in other fresh seafood, including prawns in garlic butter sauce, scallops, jumbo squid, and handmade tobiko prawn paste. The latter is essentially flying fish roe with fresh chunks of prawn meat.

There’s even a free-flow sauce bar, featuring signature house-made sauces such as their Chilli Padi Sauce, Nacho Cheese Sauce, and Green Thai Chilli Sauce. The tangy-spicy Green Thai Chilli dip goes especially well with crayfish!

If you’re not the biggest fan of seafood, fret not, as they also offer a large range of meats. Standouts here include the Signature 131 Thai Pork, Tom Yum Chicken, and Soy Ginger Pork Belly, which are all said to be juicy, tender, and well-marinated.

A mookata experience wouldn’t be complete without a delicious soup to pair with your meats. Choose between flavours such as their hearty Chicken Soup, Pork Bone Soup, and Tomyum Soup.

Don’t forget to add a serving or two of Maggi to your soup, available in Plain, Spinach, and Tomyum flavours.

131 Mookata is a quick five-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT Station and Jalan Besar MRT Station, respectively. FYI, both outlets are known to get quite crowded during peak hours, so we recommend heading down early.
