Those who want something soupy on a rainy day can opt for the Ramen with Shanghai Wanton ($8)Â instead. The broth is said to be rich and comforting, without being overly salty.

Otherwise, if you’re visiting in a group, share the Pork Dumpling in Hot Chilli and Vinegar ($7.50) AKA 红油抄手, which comes with six pieces of handmade wonton.
800 Bowls boasts a 4.6-star rating from close to 200 Google reviews, so you know they’re legit. The eatery is also centrally located, which makes it a popular weekday lunch spot among office workers in the area. We recommend visiting during off-peak hours to avoid the crowd.
