Action City Cafe: Hidden Toy Store Cafe In Jewel With Lavender Croissants And More

Action City Cafe is a cafe in a toy store at Jewel Changi

If you frequent Jewel Changi Airport often, you may have come across a new-ish cafe on the fourth floor of the mall: Action City Cafe. The cafe boasts a minimal, industrial-esque interior, which forms the perfect backdrop for the colourful designer toys and collectibles dotted throughout the space.

Sit by the entrance to discover the array of cute collectibles, or venture inside and snag a seat near the Rain Vortex for extra vibes.

Expect light bites here, including a small selection of cakes, pastries, and savoury sandwiches, alongside barista-brewed beverages.

A signature drink is the Iced Smoked Oak Caramel Macchiato ($7++), made with charcoal powder, smoked oak syrup, and fresh milk. The black beverage is creamy and slightly sweet, with an earthy and smoky finish. A hot version is available at $6++too.

The Kyoto Uji Matcha Latte ($8++) is another best-seller, though we found it to be a tad too grassy for our liking.

If you’re visiting for tea, get their Lavender Croissant ($6++), a pretty snack topped with a generous amount of lavender-spiked cream.

Although the croissant was on the dry side, you get even more of that delectable lilac cream in the middle for added moisture.

There’s also a small range of savoury sandwiches on display, including the Cheesy Hamwich ($9++) that caught our eye.

This features a thick slab of toast topped with fresh slices of cucumber and tomato, ham, mayo, and cheddar. We just wished for it to be heated up before serving!

Other than the aforementioned items, Action City Cafe also has more sweet treats lined up for your perusal. Consider the Strawberry Tart ($11++), laced with fresh strawberries and buttery crumble, or the Black Sesame Praline ($11++) if you’re a fan of goma desserts. Otherwise, indulge in a Macaron ($4++) or two!
