Singapore is home to plenty of authentic Italian restaurants such as Fico or Osteria Mozza, to name a few. Adding to this vibrant scene, Allora Ristorante and Bar has just arrived on our shores at the start of the year, promising delectable food by an Italian chef.Â
Located at the Crowne Plaza hotel, which is just a five-minutes walk from Changi MRT Station, Allora Ristorante and Bar is a gorgeously designed restaurant. It has a sort of classy yet relaxed interior design that’s perfect for enjoying Italian food as you catch up with friends or enjoy a post-flight meal.
Allora boasts an array of food, including antipasti, mains such as pasta and pizzas, desserts and more.Â
Based on our waiter’s recommendation, we ordered the Signature Polpo & Patate ($24++), which consisted of grilled octopus tentacle, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, green beans, parsley, as well as bagna cauda, an Italian vegetable sauce. The grilled octopus was not overly tough and was flavourful on its own.Â
For our mains, we ordered the Emilia ($26++). This lasagna pasta contains house-made ragu, bechamel sauce, as well as parmigiano reggiano, commonly known as parmesan. If pasta is not for you, you can also opt for their other mains such as Barramundi ($32++), Angus Filetto ($88++), or the signature Bologna ($75++).Â
For all seafood lovers, The Bari Pizza ($34++) is a creation inspired by Chef Enzo’s hometown, Bari. Since Bari is a coastal region, Chef included seafood elements such as anchovies. Each slice also contains burrata, tomato pulp, anchovy, capers, as well as basil.Â
To end our meal, we got the signature Alloramisu ($16++), the restaurant’s rendition of the famous Italian dessert, tiramisu. This dessert features homemade savolardi cookies AKA ladyfinger biscuit that are drizzled with espresso, cocoa powder, mascarpone cream, and finally layered with coffee jelly on top.
Allora also has a bar area for customers who are just here for a drink. They have an extensive selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Try their signature cocktail, the Allora on Airport Boulevard or Blue Monkey, both priced at $18++. If not, try The Garden Party ($13++) mocktail, which is highly recommended as well. Alternatively, Allora also has a wide range of spirits and wine for you to choose from.
With its chic interiors and warm, relaxing atmosphere, Allora is the place to go if you want to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine without the hustle and bustle. If you’re intending on visiting Allora, be sure to make a reservation before you head down to ensure that you have a seat!Â
