New in: Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre has officially opened its doors! The new Sengkang food centre, a two-minute walk from Farmway LRT Station, boasts a whopping total of 650 seats and 36 stalls.
Out of the 36 stalls, 33 of them sell cooked food. The list includes Michelin-recommended names, including Pin Wei Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun, as well as popular local eateries such as China Whampoa Homemade Noodles and Original Simon Road Hokkien Mee, famous since the 1960s.
Those who love Munchi Pancakes will be delighted to know they have set up shop at Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre. The well-known min jiang kueh brand has multiple outlets islandwide, including Yishun and Tampines. Try their signature Biscoff ($2.60) or Black Sesame ($2.20) MJK, which comes packed with your choice of filling!
You’ll also find the cult-favourite Eng Kee Chicken Wings on the list of stalls here.
This popular brand has been around since 1989, known for their Crispy Chicken Wings ($1.70). They currently have a few outlets dotted across the island, including their OG stall in Commonwealth. There’s also the option of ordering economic bee hoon if you’d like a more complete meal.
Interestingly, you can also get Thai Fried Banana (price TBD) at Thai Khanom Banana! The stall will sell other Thai-style fried snacks such as Fried Yam Chips and Sweet Potato Fritters, which are great for any time of the day.
If you’re in the mood for something healthier, get the Hakka Thunder Tea Rice (price TBD) from Lei Po Po Hakka Thunder Rice. Top up $0.50 to upgrade your carb to brown rice, or ask for the rice-less option instead, which will get you extra veggies.
This is just the tip of the iceberg as there are so many more food options worth checking out at the new hawker centre! Do note that some stalls have yet to open during this phase.
