Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar has three outlets across the country, but it is its Shenton Way outlet that receives particular attention. That is because that’s the outlet that has received the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award for several years in a row, as a recognition of its quality cooking that is also value-for-money.

Granted, this is still a restaurant and the prices here aren’t exactly cheap, but regulars claim this is some seriously good food that won’t break the bank. Plus, you get to dine in a cosy setting with both indoor and outdoor seats.

For many patrons, the star dish here has to be the Chicken Tikka Masala ($22++), cooked in tomato gravy and of course, plenty of spices. Said to feature juicy cubes of boneless chicken that’s well-marinated, this dish is at once aromatic, creamy, and delightfully smoky. Pair it with some Naan (from $4.50) to soak up all that spice-filled goodness.

The restaurant is also known for its delectable Butter Chicken ($22++), which features the aforementioned chicken cubes but cooked with tomatoes, butter, and cream. This is a piquant and addictive dish that will please anyone who enjoys rich flavours.

Other recommended dishes here include the hearty Mutton Dum Briyani ($22++), the spicy Madras Prawn Curry ($24++), and the Indian Railway Mutton Curry ($24++). Fans of Indian cuisine, do yourself a favour and check this place out if you haven’t already!
