This New Vietnamese Cafe Has 10-Inch Banh Mi, Noodles And More Under $15

Baguette & Coffee is a new banh mi cafe in Bugis and Joo Chiat

Like many of you, we’re huge fans of Vietnamese fare—especially banh mi that’s loaded with all kinds of ingredients. Recently, Baguette & Coffee opened their stores in Bugis and Joo Chiat with a menu that sees four different types of carbs: rice, banh mi, noodles, and even pizza. If you’re looking to try a new Vietnamese eatery, Baguette & Coffee’s affordable offerings and central locations give you enough reasons to do so.

Let’s start with the Grilled Pork Baguette ($8), featuring pickled vegetables and grilled pork sandwiched between a 10-inch—or 26cm-long—French baguette. We know that baguettes tend to be harder to eat as it’s crusty in terms of texture, but we’ve read online that the baguette here is a lot softer than the regular ones.

For less common flavours, you can try the Jambon Baguette ($8) or Shredded Chicken with Passion Fruit Sauce Baguette ($7.50). The former gives you a lovely sweet-savoury balance thanks to the winning combination of ham and butter, while the latter is said to be slightly tangy and sweet with the addition of passionfruit sauce.

If you’re not feeling baguette, opt for their Vietnamese Noodle with BBQ Pork & Fried Spring Roll ($12.50) instead. Add a few slices of red chilli, and give it a good mix with the dry noodles to get that punchy flavour! There’s also Vietnamese Braised Pork & Eggs ($11.50) for a tender, well-marinated pork meat alternative.

We recommend trying the crowd-favourite Vietnamese Fried Spring Roll ($3.50). This deep-fried snack is packed with BBQ pork, vegetables, and Vietnamese noodles, and pairs really well with any mains of your choice.

Currently, there are two outlets in Bugis and Joo Chiat respectively. The former is a quick two-minute walk from Bugis MRT Station, while the latter is a 10-minute bus ride from Dakota MRT Station.
