While Toast Box and Ya Kun are the usual go-tos for kaya toast in Singapore, fans of Bao Er Cafe will tell you their version hits different. If you’re team Bao Er, here’s some good news: the popular chain is set to open an outlet in Holland Village this July 2025.

The new Holland Village outlet isn’t just a copy-paste of their OG Balestier branch or sister cafe Treasure Toast—you can expect extended opening hours and a bigger space here.

Go straight for their Kaya Toast Set ($6), which comes with a choice of hot kopi or teh and two soft-boiled eggs to pair with your four slices of kaya butter toast.

Expect the same creamy, sweet-savoury combo of aromatic butter and fragrant kaya spread that’s house-made every morning. Whether you’re swinging by for a quick breakfast or a midday pick-me-up, it’s a solid snack no matter the time of day.

Don’t sleep on their Signature Hokkien Mee ($8.80) that comes loaded with crispy pork lard and fresh prawns. Despite leaning on the wetter side, this plate packs a punch with its smoky, addictive wok hei that’ll have you planning your next visit before you’re even done with your hokkien mee.

If hokkien mee isn’t your thing, go for their Fried Bee Hoon (price TBD) instead. You can customise it with classics such as crispy luncheon meat and a sunny-side-up egg.

Noodles aside, some fried rice options include Yang Zhou Fried Rice (price TBD), Fried Chicken Cutlet (price TBD), and Sambal Kampung Fried Rice (price TBD).

The Prawn Paste Chicken Wings (price TBD)—crispy, juicy wings, deep fried till golden-brown—are a crowd favourite too

We’ll update this space with more information on their menu soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Bao Er Cafe’s new outlet will feature a spacious 70-seater restaurant, but trust us when we say this: come early to beat the peak hour crowd because their food is seriously that popular.

For easy access, Bao Er Cafe’s new outlet is located right outside Holland Village MRT Station.
