If you’re in the mood for some dim sum, visit Bao Fa Cha Chaan Teng. With retro vibes that evoke 80s Hong Kong, this Tai Seng eatery may impress you with its wide range of handmade dim sum.

Prices for the dim sum here start from just $2—items that cost that much include the Char Siew So and Crispy Egg Tart.

While you’re there, be sure to try their Bao Fa’s King Har Gow ($5.30), which is widely praised for its silky skin and succulent prawn filling. The Bao Fa’s Queen Siew Mai ($4.80), with its mix of tender pork and juicy prawn, is similarly worth ordering.

We’ve also seen many order the XO Fried Carrot Cake ($6.50), said to be stir-fried till crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. Its appeal is elevated by the fragrant, savoury XO sauce that ties the dish together nicely.

Bao Fa Cha Chaan Teng also offers Hong Kong-style dishes. For heartier dishes, opt for mains such as the Macaroni w/ Soup & Luncheon Meat ($5.80), Pork Ribs Rice ($5.80), Baked Chicken & Tomato Rice ($9.80) and more.

There are also more overtly “Western” dishes here, including the Fish & Chips ($13.80) and Spaghetti Bolognese ($9.80).
