Isetan Shizuoka Fair Has Mt. Fuji Snacks, Wagyu Katsu And More In Orchard

Isetan Scotts has Shizuoka fair till 16 January in Orchard

FYI: There’s a new Japanese food fair in town! Isetan Shizuoka Fair runs from now till 16 January 2025 at Isetan Scotts, a Japanese supermarket located on Basement 1 of Shaw House.

The fair showcases premium produce and snacks from the renowned Shizuoka Prefecture in Mt. Fuji. You’ll find a niche selection of sweet and savoury snacks, Japanese whiskeys, as well as food kiosks serving up onigiri, Wagyu and more.

If you’re feeling peckish, there’s a station selling onigiri and yakisoba.

A small portion of Fujinomiya Yakisoba goes for $10.90, while a big serving is priced at $13.80.

While you’re there, grab an Onigiri Wasabi ($4.90) from Ton Ton, featuring wasabi stems from Shizuoka.

The rice was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, pairing well with the piquant and flavourful wasabi. You can also get both items as a set at $13.80, which saves you $1!

Then, fill up on a Mt. Fuji Wagyu Menchi Katsu Burger ($8) at Nikusho Tanaka‘s kiosk.

Prepared fresh to order, each burger comprises two fluffy brioche buns sandwiching a deep-fried Wagyu patty, finished with shredded cabbage and a sweet-savoury tare sauce.

We also enjoyed the Mt. Fuji Wagyu Skewer ($12), which was incredibly juicy and flavourful, with a perfect meat-to-fat ratio.

If you enjoy the Wagyu as much as we do, you can da bao a platter of Mt. Fuji Wagyu beef from the chiller!

Then, wash everything down with a rich and creamy Tofu Drink ($9.50) at Ton Ton, available in flavours such as Hojicha and Mikan: Japanese mandarin orange.

Don’t miss out on the impressive selection of Japanese snacks too, with highlights such as Shizuoka Wave Chips ($6.90) and Sweet Potato Crackers ($7.90).

Those with a sweet tooth can visit the Fujiseipan counter for their signature Mt. Fuji Sable Cookies, priced from $30.60 for a box.

The Isetan Shizuoka Fair is ongoing till 16 January 2025, from 10am to 9pm daily.
