Convenience stores are a huge part of the F&B culture in many Asian countries. While we have our 7-Elevens, BAO Fast Foods (BFF) is bringing a Taiwanese minimart-inspired concept to Singapore and serving up its iconic street food: Taiwanese fried chicken.

BFF’s parent company, BAO, was first established in London and has since become a cult favourite there with seven locations across the city. It’s known for its contemporary take on Taiwanese street food, with signatures including pillowy pork baos and more.

Now, Singaporeans can see what the hype is about, as BFF will be popping up at New Bahru from 11 November to 28 December 2026.

BFF’s signature is the Chicken Chopper ($6.50), a unique take on the Taiwanese fried chicken—here, the meat is cut in a manner where the bone acts as a handle for easy eating.

The Chicken Chopper is served three ways. The Original Crispy is seasoned with Taiwanese white pepper; the Flame Glazed is brushed with either a honey-soy or mala hot honey glaze and charred; and the Master Scalded is dipped in a boiling soy, star anise, and cinnamon sauce.

These can be enjoyed with a ricebox ($7.95) or as a combo (from $9.50). For a heartier meal, you can also pair them with Dan Dan Noodles ($6.50) or the Beef Cup Noodles ($12.50), topped with freshly carved beef from a slow-roasting spit.

Wash down your food with Taiwanese craft tea, including the Fluffy Natural Alishan Wintermelon ($5.95), a black tea infused with nitro for a foamy texture, or the Orange Guava Beauty Tea ($6.50), a carbonated fruit tea. Alternatively, The Original Peanut Oatside Milk ($6) is a richer option, served with oat boba and tea jelly.

If you’re in a hurry, consider their grab-and-go items, including the Egg Sando, Marinated Eggs, “Fried Rice” Quinoa, Soy Puddings and more.
