Tampines Food Co is shaping up to be one of the hottest food joints in the East, with heavyweights such as The Flameshack and Fatburger setting up base there. Joining their ranks is the famous American chain, Blimpie, which just opened their first outlet in Singapore.

Founded in 1964, the deli sells a slew of subs, wraps, paninis, and salads—all of which can be filled with the likes of beef salami, turkey ham and more. Muslim diners will also be glad to know that all the ingredients used are halal-certified.

Ordering your sub is a simple affair. Just like at Subway, you begin by selecting your bread: white, wheat, olive, or Parmesan. Afterwards, refer to their menu to see which fillings you want. Prices range between $6.50 and $13.50 for regular subs—in the same ballpark as Subway.

At $7.50, the Hoboken is the safest choice for first-time diners. Boasting beef pepperoni, beef salami and provolone cheese, the sandwich has equal parts meat and greens for a filling meal.

Hardcore meat lovers will gravitate towards The Blimp ($13.50) that’s jam-packed with oven-roasted turkey, roast beef, beef salami, beef pepperoni, and provolone cheese. The abundance of juicy meat justifies the high price tag as you’ll be getting a burst of savoury flavours in every mouthful.

Those with ravenous appetites can top up $3 to get a combo meal which includes chips or cookies, and a drink!

As with all merchants at Tampines Food Co, Blimpie lets you order via the self-order kiosks near the entrance. Simply key in your order, and collect your food at the lockers once it’s ready. Alternatively, you can get your grub online via Foodpanda.

With a menu of close to 20 items, Blimpie is starting off strong—giving your fav’ sandwich shops a run for their money. For now, word of their arrival is on the down low, so hurry down before they get crowded.

While you’re there, be sure to check out The Flameshack for their unique burgers which includes green curry chicken, unagi, and truffle mushroom. They were so good that they even managed to nab a spot on our Top 50 food places in 2019!

Address: 10 Tampines North Drive 4, #01-05, Tampines Food Co, Singapore 528553
Opening hours: Daily 11am to 8pm
