More Korean bakeries have been sprouting up in Singapore lately; we have B For Bagel with their loaded bagels and Bakery 1946 selling adorable fruit- and vegetable-shaped bread. But there hasn’t been anything like Breaders, which specialises in egg tarts. FYI, the new Korean bakery will officially open on 15 February 2025 at Taste Orchard.
Hailing from Korea, Breaders has seven branches scattered across their home country. The outlet at Taste Orchard is the bakery’s first overseas venture! Here, you’ll find egg tarts in eight variations, with the Sweet Potato Tart ($4.30), Earl Grey Tart ($4.50), and Blueberry Cream Cheese Tart ($4.30) known to be steady sellers.Â
The Signature Egg Tart is priced the lowest at $3.60, while their Pecan Walnut Tart is the most expensive at $4.90.Â
Flaky and crumbly on the outside, you’ll find that the egg tarts are packed with a velvety smooth, fudgy cream at the core. Unlike the Hong Kong, Portuguese, or old-school egg tarts in Singapore, which are typically eaten warm or at room temperature, Breaders’ egg tarts are meant to be enjoyed as cold as possible. Remember, the colder the better!
If you prefer egg tarts with a cookie crust, we recommend getting the Crumble Blueberry Tart ($4.50) instead as it’s said to be softer and less crispy than the rest.
Breaders is still in the soft opening phase, so please extend some grace if you encounter any hiccups during your visit.Â
