Cafe Confetti Has Kueh High Tea Set, Crabmeat Laksa Baked Eggs And More In Tai Seng

Handmade kueh and specialty coffee at Tai Seng

Rarely do we find kueh and cafe fare in the same space━one is typically found in local hawker centres and coffee shops, the other focuses on Western-style items. Cafe Confetti is here to prove that these two can coexist, with their house-made kueh and specialty coffee, served in a cafe setting.

If you’re here for the first time and looking to sample a little bit of all their handmade kueh, get the Quartet Set ($10). This set of four items includes two each of mini ang ku kueh, ondeh-ondeh, and kueh koswee, as well as one mee sua kueh.

All of Cafe Confetti’s kueh is made by hand in-house daily, so rest assured that you’ll be enjoying these bites at their freshest.

Intentionally prepared in bite-sized pieces, you’ll be able to enjoy the traditional goodness of Cafe Confetti’s kueh without feeling too full.

Cafe Confetti also brings something new to the local cafe scene: the deliberate pairing of kueh with artisanal coffee. Their founders believe that the nuances of different coffee roasts bring out certain flavour notes in kueh that you wouldn’t normally find when enjoying them plain.

Experience this for yourself with The Quartet Set, which also comes with a choice of hot beverage. On the coffee front, you can choose from options such as Americano, Flat White, Latte, Cappuccino, and more. The coffee beans used here are a blend of locally roasted Colombian and Brazilian beans, with flavour notes of toffee, chocolate and red apples. The fruity, medium-bodied blend pairs well with the pandan and coconut flavours of kueh.

Bring a friend or two along to enjoy the All-Day High Tea Set ($30) together. This set comes in a pastel-coloured tingkat with an assortment of warm kueh and two beverages of your choice.

Enjoy eight different types of fresh kueh and pastries in this set, including classic choices such as kueh dadar, and kueh sago.

You can enjoy other specialty drinks on their menu too, such as Iced Mocha and Iced Matcha, as part of the set. They’re available as hot drinks as well, at $5.50 and $5 respectively a la carte.

Other than kueh, Cafe Confetti also serves several mains and sides. These include Baked Eggs in Crabmeat Laksa Sauce ($14), which features actual pieces of crab meat in a thick, lemak laksa sauce.

For those with more of a sweet tooth, the Camembert Cheese and Honey on Sourdough ($9) might be more appealing. Here, you’ll get slices of the creamy cheese, torched on sourdough and drizzled with honey to serve.

Cafe Confetti serves a sampler of their house-made kaya in the All-Day High Tea Set, but if you’re looking for a dish that spotlights the kaya, give the Croissant with Housemade Kaya ($4.50) a try.

Similar to the kueh, the kaya is also hand-whisked in-house daily, allowing more of the kaya’s coconutty, pandan flavours to shine through.

Just a short walk away from Tai Seng MRT Station, getting to Cafe Confetti is not a problem at all. The stylishly decorated interior and acoustic pop playlist in the background will immediately put you at ease, allowing you to enjoy your kueh in peace.
