SG’s First Restaurant In A Cave Will Open At Mandai Wildlife Reserve In March 2025

Cavern Restaurant will open at Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Singapore is no stranger to bizarre dining experiences. We’ve tried Le Petit Chef, a 3D dining concept combining animations with travel-themed courses, Sotong Game 2, a Squid Game-inspired immersive experience, and more. Soon there will be another one-of-a-kind restaurant located within the walls of a man-made cave, as Cavern Restaurant is set to open at Mandai Wildlife Reserve on 12 March 2025.

Cavern Restaurant will be situated near the entrance of the reserve’s latest attraction, Rainforest Wild Asia, which is slated to open in March 2025. The restaurant, owned by TungLok Group, is said to seat up to 158 diners across both its dining and bar spaces.

Drawing inspiration from the UNESCO-listed Mulu Caves of Sarawak, Cavern will be fully enshrouded within a cave setting. To further enhance the experience, the chambers of the cave will also be adorned with crystalline lights meant to replicate the look of dripstone formations.

Visitors can expect an International Western-inspired menu, curated by Head Chef Sheng Lim, who has years of culinary experience under his belt. In line with the eatery’s environmental themes, various sustainable elements have also been incorporated into operations—these include menu covers made out of mushroom-leather, and cutlery holders made from reclaimed teak.

Aside from the unique restaurant, visitors can look forward to the nature reserve’s new ecological park, which will house animal habitats that thrive in a rainforest setting—think tigers, sun bears, tapirs, spotted deer, and langurs.

We will update this article with more details of the menu soon, so keep an eye on this space for that!
