Popular Japanese Grilled Fish Chain To Open At NEX With Sets From $8.90

Japan’s beloved casual dining chain, Charcoal Grill Shinpachi—more famously known as Shinpachi Shokudo in Japan—is opening its first international location at Serangoon NEX on 15 August 2026. Known for its quick-service yet high-quality charcoal-grilled fish teishoku, the brand has earned a loyal following across more than 100 outlets in Japan, offering freshly prepared fish sets that are easy on the wallet.

The Singapore menu features over 10 grilled fish sets, starting at $8.90, with a focus on premium ingredients and carefully selected fish. There are over 10 types of imported fish to choose from!

Highlights include the Saba Bunka Boshi Set, where the fish is lightly salted and dried using a cold-air drying process, the Salmon Harasu Set that’s made with rich salmon belly, and the Hokke Set Half, showcasing Atka mackerel with a tender, flaky interior and crisp skin.

What sets Shinpachi apart is its special charcoal grill, designed to cook fish evenly and quickly while locking in flavour.

Each set is accompanied by fluffy Japanese rice, crisp pickles, and a bowl of miso soup, creating a classic teishoku experience.
