CHOP CHOP By Putien Opens At NUS With Everything Priced Under $8

CHOP CHOP By Putien at NUS

You don’t have to splurge if you’re craving Fujianese cuisine from Michelin-starred Putien. The homegrown chain has opened a casual eatery in NUS UTown, aptly named CHOP CHOP By Putien. With everything on the menu priced under $8, this outlet hopes to cater to time-pressed students and those living around Clementi.

The dishes served here are inspired by Putien Kitchener Road, which was the brand’s first restaurant, and was awarded a Michelin star for four consecutive years, from 2016 to 2019.  The express food service showcases some of Putien’s signature dishes, including Fujian Seafood Lor Mee ($7.90), Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon ($7.90), and Putien Cabbage Rice ($6.90).

Make your meal complete by topping up $1 for an appetiser of the day, and your choice of homemade juice. Starters are also priced affordably at $3.50, with options such as Braised Bamboo Shoot, and Braised Homemade Bean Curd. The drinks are also easy on the wallet, with homemade juices including Lime Juice ($1.20), and Pearl Barley with Winter Melon ($1.50).

Other must-tries include Putien Sweet and Sour Pork with Lychee ($7.90), and Spinach in Supreme Stock ($5.90). Finally, cool off with a dessert or two; choose either the Lotus Seed with White Fungus Soup ($2), or Chilled Loquat In Herbal Jelly ($2.50).
