Steak restaurants in Singapore are a dime a dozen, but it’s unlikely that you will find one with assorted Korean banchan AKA side dishes, and soju cocktails in a range of flavours. Cue Dan’s Steaks, a popular steakhouse with four outlets across the country. If you’d like something a little different from your usual steak and wine pairing, put this steakhouse on your list.
Let’s start with the steak since the restaurant is, after all, a steakhouse. Here, there’s a good selection of cuts that feed not just one person, but up to a group of four. If you’d like to get individual plates, there’s the classic NZ Sirloin ($32++) and NZ Fillet Mignon ($42++). Else, we recommend the Large NZ Tenderloin ($138++) perfect for sharing among a group of three to four people.
Even better, all mains come with a side of your choice for free! There are more than 10 sides to choose from with the likes of Creamed Spinach ($14++) topped with a sunny side up, Smashed Potatoes ($11++), and Pan-roasted Asparagus ($14++).
There’s also the crowd favourite Dan’s Mac & Cheese ($14++) for those who can appreciate a good cheese pull. You can get all sides as a la carte dishes.
It would be remiss of us to leave their Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallops ($27++) out of the discussion. This starter is as popular as their steak dishes, and many online reviews tout that the melt-in-the-mouth scallops complement the garlic butter really well. Don’t forget to dip some toast into the sizzling garlic butter!

When you’re having greasy foods, there’s nothing that a range of Ban Chan ($8++) can’t fix. You would be surprised to find out that steak is a great pairing with Korean side dishes, including diced radish kimchi, seasoned spinach and more. To keep things exciting, their assortment of banchan changes from time to time!
Besides wine, you can pair your mains and sides with the Assorted Korean Soju Cocktails ($21++) which come in either strawberry or melon popsicle flavours.
