5 Dishes You Need To Try This Week 23/6/2015

1.Prawn Fritters ($7) – Lao Zhong Zhong

There’s no greater comfort than digging into crispy fried prawn fritters, chewy octopus, and juicy ngo hiangs. Everything is fried to perfection, and it’s almost a sin to stop at just one prawn fritter. Remember to ask for an extra bowl of their signature chili sauce if you’re a fan of sweet and spicy condiments.

Address: 29 Tai Thong Crescent, Singapore 347858
Opening Hours: 24 Hours

2.Maple Bacon Chop ($22) – Artichoke

Source

Artichoke serves up a hearty brunch, and one of my favourite dishes is the maple-glazed bacon chop. The thick-cut home-cured bacon is smoky and tender, and pairs excellently with eggs and toast. Just thinking about it now makes me want to reserve a spot for brunch on Sunday!

Address: 161 Middle Road, Sculpture Square, Singapore 188978
Opening Hours: Tuesday – Friday: 630pm – 945pm / Saturday: 1130am – 245pm, 630pm – 945pm
Reservations: 6336 6949

3.Bara Chirashi Don ($32) – Syun

My all-time favourite bara-chirashi don features a beautiful ocean in a bowl. For $32, you get a generous portion of amazingly fresh sashimi, topped with a drizzle of gingery sweet sauce, and garnished with edible microgreens and flowers. All sets are served with miso soup, salad, and chawanmushi.

Address: 8 Sentosa Gateway, Festive Walk RWS, Sentosa Island, Resorts World Sentosa, 098269
Opening Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 12pm – 3pm / 6pm – 11pm
Reservations: 6577 6688

4.Buffalo Wings ($12) – Wings World

Wings World tops my list of affordable places to indulge in blazin’ buffalo wings. The wings are crispy and pack a fiery punch, thanks to the vinegary hot sauce. Absolutely not for the faint of heart.

Address: 214 East Coast Rd, 428913
Opening Hours: Monday – Thursday: 12 pm – 1030 pm / Friday – Saturday: 12 pm – 1130 pm / Sunday: 12 pm – 1030 pm

5.Foie Gras Terrine ($14) – Bodega Y Tapas

Source

One of my favourite places to go for a rich foie gras terrine. This smooth creamy goodness is topped with nuts and vinagrette, and served alongside crusty toasted bread. If you’re not a liver person, try their huevo rotos which features potatoes, poached eggs, and iberico. It’s a simple but satisfying dish.

Address: 442 Orchard Road, 01-29 Orchard Hotel, 238879
Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday 12pm – 1am
Reservations: 6735 3476
