We’re big on discovering hidden food finds at Eatbook.sg, but chancing upon Dolphins’ Restaurant in MacPherson’s Genting Lane truly took that definition up a notch. Tucked away in an industrial building is this super-retro Western restaurant, serving up dishes a la Jack’s Place since the 1990s, with affordable set lunches daily.
The decor caught our eyes right off the bat. If you’re born in the ‘90s or earlier, this restaurant definitely checks all the nostalgia boxes with its cosy, kitschy vibes. There’s a long bar lit with blue light, lined with figurines, dark wood accents, and comfy seating, including booth chairs. In an age of ultra-minimalism, Dolphins’ Restaurant definitely brings on the character.

On to the food: you’ll find most of the menu priced under $30, and portions are sizeable too. We recommend swinging by for lunch, where they have Western mains starting at $16.90+, going up to $38.90+. All sets come with garlic bread, soup of the day, dessert of the day, and your choice of either coffee or tea.

For something that won’t break the bank, get their Spaghetti Aglio Olio ($18.90+) with prawn, where charred prawns are served atop a garlicky bed of al dente spaghetti, perfumed with chilli.

If you’re there to feast, the Mixed Grill ($27.90+) is a good bet for a little bit of everything, as the plate comes with grilled chicken, pork, fish fillet, sausage, and a sunny-side-up egg. Seafood fans can opt for the Salmon and Scallop ($27.90+), where a pan-seared salmon fillet is served with a few scallop rounds, cooked just so.

Dolphins’ Restaurant is just about a 15-minute walk from MacPherson MRT Station. It’s located amidst a sprawling industrial complex, so it’s definitely worth a visit if you work in the area and would like somewhere quiet to dine.
