Don Don Prawn Noodles is located at Circuit Road Hawker Centre. They only use fresh prawns in all their noodles, which are acquired from the wet market daily. In addition, all their condiments, such as chilli sauce, pork lard, and fried shallots, are said to be prepared in-house daily.Â

If this is your first time here, start with their signature Jumbo Prawn Noodles ($12.80), which you can get either dry or with soup. This massive, umami-laden bowl features large, juicy prawns with all the works: fish cakes, vegetables, bean sprouts, and pork lard. All the prawns are deshelled, so you don’t have to worry about getting your hands dirty while peeling them.

If you prefer more protein in your hei mee, go for the Pork Rib Jumbo Prawn Noodles ($10.80). The pork ribs are said to be marinated in garlic, onion, and wine for hours, giving the meat a tender texture with rich flavour.Â

For the innards lovers out there, you’ll be pleased to know that they also offer Pig Tail Prawn Noodle Soup ($5.50/$6.50). The pig tails are smooth and chewy, which give some textural variance to your dish.
