Eggslut Collabs With Jumbo Seafood To Launch Chilli Crab Sandwich For A Limited Time Only

Eggslut has a new Chilli Crab Sandwich with Jumbo Seafood

When Eggslut landed on our shores back in 2021, queues were said to stretch at least an hour long. Fast forward to today, the world-famous sandwich shop now has a new Suntec outlet, plus an exciting collab with Jumbo Seafood: Chilli Crab Sandwich ($16). The locally inspired sandwich will be available from 7 July to 30 September 2023 at both Suntec and Orchard stores, along with an all-new Chilli Crab Slut ($12).

The Chilli Crab Sandwich features sweet brioche buns holding together Jumbo’s signature chilli crab sauce atop Eggslut’s famous cage-free soft scrambled eggs.

The sauce is sweet and slightly spicy, with chunks of real crab within, complementing the generous amount of creamy eggs.

Unfortunately, the brioche buns were a tad dry, even after absorbing some of that sweet chilli crab sauce. There’s also a slice of baby romaine lettuce to cut through all that richness, though we felt we could do without it as it became soggy from the saucy goodness.

Make sure you tuck in stat as it’s best enjoyed fresh—we found the sandwich rather messy to eat after it has been sitting out for a while!

For those who can’t get enough, consider getting the Chilli Crab Slut. This is an upgrade from Eggslut’s bestselling Slut, which comprises house-made potato puree with a coddled egg, topped with chives.

You also get a layer of the same chilli crab sauce in the middle; dunk the toasted bread slices into the mixture to break the yolk, and enjoy the combination of flavours and textures.

This snack was on the salty side, so we recommend washing it down with a selection of drinks, including Orange Juice ($5.50) and Iced White ($6), the latter made with Common Man Coffee Roasters beans.

Make sure you visit before October to get your hands on the new sandwich before it’s taken off the menu!
