This TikTok-Viral FairPrice In Clarke Quay Has A Food Court And Cocktail Bar, Opens Till 12AM

FairPrice Finest in Clarke Quay has a food court

Adulting means getting excited about the opening of a TikTok-viral FairPrice Finest store in Clarke Quay. If you’re assuming that this is your typical supermarket, their cocktail bar and food court, which hosts an extensive range of cuisines, will make you think again.

Walk towards the end of the supermarket, and you’ll be greeted by a spacious food hall serving up all kinds of food: pasta, kebab, and even teppanyaki. The dining space can easily house more than 50 people at once, including large groups of diners.

My colleague and I were seated at around 10am, and we were already surrounded by a handful of diners starting their day with coffee and breakfast. After exploring the space, we decided to try some of the Middle Eastern, Japanese, and Peranakan fare.

We started with the Curry Chicken Value Set ($8.80), which comprises Nyonya-style curry chicken with blue pea flower rice, fried chai po omelette, and cucumber slices.

The curry chicken was a hit, while the blue pea flower rice was sort of a miss. For the former, we liked that the sauce was aromatic and robust, with a texture that was nicely between flowy and viscous. Although we found the blue pea flower rice dry and plain, mixing it with the curry sauce made up for the lack of flavour.

Then we tried the Falafel Kebab ($9) that came sliced into two pieces. You get a few huge pieces of deep-fried falafel, sliced onions, shredded cabbage, and a dollop of tangy yoghurt sauce, all neatly wrapped in a thin pita bread.

It was also fun choosing our mix of Inari Sushi ($5.80 for three). During our visit, there were about 10 different flavours that we could pick from. We decided to get one topped with tobiko, another with takoyaki, and the last one with lobster salad. This trio is great if you’re tight on time and want a quick bite on the go.

We ended our meal on a sweet note with a Matcha Red Bean Daifuku ($2.60) and a Sea Salt Cheese Daifuku ($2.60). The matcha one is great if you love something classic and on the sweeter side, while the sea salt one is great for those who prefer their desserts rich and creamy.

Here’s a tip: for corporate hustlers who want to get some work done, there’s a row of seats with power plugs within the food hall.

Food hall aside, there’s even a bar with counter stools offering a wide selection of alcoholic drinks here. Wine, beer, cocktails—you name it, and they probably have what you want.

The newest FairPrice Finest branch is a five-minute walk from Clarke Quay MRT Station, and business runs till late at night every day. If you want affordable meal options in the area, the food hall might be the perfect destination for you.

By the way, this isn’t the first FairPrice supermarket with a dine-in concept. FairPrice Finest at The Woodleigh Mall opened in May 2023 with a cafe and cocktail bar!
