This Hotel Buffet Has Free-Flow Asian Dishes Such As Drunken Prawns And Braised Pork Belly For Under $50

Enjoy free-flow gourmet Asian dishes at Feast Asia

Hotel buffets in Singapore are dime a dozen, so if you’re looking for a spot that’s both wallet-friendly and has a variety of unique Asian offerings, we recommend you check out Feast Asia at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy Hotel.

The East-side hotel restaurant is located just in front of the upcoming Marine Parade MRT Station on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), slated to open in 2024. In the meantime, it is accessible via Mountbatten or Dakota MRT Stations, and is a short walk away from Parkway Parade.

If you’re looking for an Asian-themed buffet in the East that’s delicious, and value-for-money thanks to the sheer variety of dishes available, then Feast Asia makes for a solid bet. Their buffet is available for lunch and dinner, and starts at just $42++ per adult and $21++ per child.

Here’s what you can expect at their buffet, though some of their dishes rotate, so if there’s something here that catches your eye, be sure to call down to check for its availability before paying a visit.

Seafood lovers will be happy to know that the buffet has quite a selection of Seafood on Ice. For lunch, you get all-you-can-eat Poached Live Prawns, Crayfish, and Half-shell Scallops, and for dinner, you get the addition of Freshly Shucked Hyogo Oysters or Cooked Crab to enjoy.

To flavour your seafood, Feast Asia has a selection of different condiments, including a basil chilli dip and a chinchalok lime dip.

Be sure to eat your fill at their Sashimi And Sushi counter, which offers fresh cuts of seafood, including the classic salmon, tuna, and octopus, as well as hokkigai, AKA surf clams. You’ll also get unlimited servings of maki rolls and gunkan.

The heart of the buffet resides in their specialty noodles, mains, and their live station. As mentioned, Feast Asia prides itself on their Asian dishes, which include local fare such as their Signature Laksa, complete with a lemak coconut broth.

Another must-try is their popular Roxy Satay, grilled to order at their live station.

Spend some time poring over their mains, which feature a wide selection of Asian dishes, alongside a range of continental classics, from paella to roasted meats. Our favourites include the Foo Chow Pork Belly Braised with Fermented Red Wine Sauce—a flavourful, melt-in-your-mouth stew starring tender pork belly.

The meat is marinated for 90 minutes in a Chinese wine blend before being slowly braised so it remains juicy and packed with flavour.

The Drunken Prawns In Pocket are another highlight, starring fresh tiger prawns dressed in a herbal Chinese wine sauce, wrapped in foil, and then baked. The sauce marries goji berries infused with Chinese wine, as well as angelica root, so the prawns are infused with a savoury, slightly herbal flavour.

Be sure to save stomach space for dessert, as Feast Asia has quite the variety to pick from. The Signature Durian Pengat is a creamy delight and a must-have for lovers of the King of Fruit.

Also be sure to dig in to their fragrant Pandan Layer Cake and assorted Nyonya Kueh, and to wash it all down with their Maotai with Lychee, a creamy mousse that sees lychee puree infused with punchy Maotai baijiu.

The next time you’re looking for a buffet to treat yourself to in the East, consider visiting Feast Asia.
