Sentosa Is Celebrating NDP With SG’s Biggest BBQ Party, Iconic Hawker Dishes, Dining Promos & More

Feast at Sentosa 2018

Singapore’s birthday is just around the corner, and no celebration is complete without some proper feasting. This August, celebrate National Day with Feast at Sentosa, where you’ll find hawker classics at RWS Street Eats, restaurant discounts, performances and movie screenings, and even the longest BBQ pit in Singapore. Here are the highlights!

Kaki BBQ with movies by the beach

I love a good ol’ barbeque, so Sentosa’s Kaki BBQ has got me all heated up. From 8 to 12 Aug 2018, you’ll get to cook your own sizzling meals during this DIY grilling event held at Palawan Green on Palawan Beach.

The pits, food and cutlery have already been prepared, and all you need to do is choose from meats ranging from marinated Angus striploin steak to Cajun lamb chop, before throwing them onto your own fiery grill. Sambal stingray, satay, and more will be available. If you prefer to sit back and enjoy the tasty work of professionals, there’ll be chefs around to do the barbequing for you too. Prices for the food start at $1.50.

You’ll even get a shot at making it into the national records. At 6pm on 9 Aug, there will be an attempt to set the record for the most number of people barbequing at the longest BBQ pit in Singapore.

As night falls, gather your barbequed treats and get cosy on the field, because that’s when the beachside movie screenings start. If you’re lucky, you might even get to catch the National Day Parade flypast during your seaside picnic.

Venue: Palawan Beach, Palawan Green

Free music performances and roving food mascots

If you’re into music, you can enjoy the free music performances available around the island. There’ll be a weekend symphony at Merlion Plaza on National Day as well as every Saturday from now until 25 August, at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

Mise En Place will also be putting on an interactive show on weekends, at 3:55pm, 5:25pm and 7pm at Beach Station, creating music using only their pots and pans.

On weekends from now till 26 Aug 2018, you might just bump into these adorable food mascots around Beach Station. They’re not camera shy, so feel free to go ahead and snap as many selfies with them as you want.
