From Nana & Friends, Singapore’s first mystery blind box bingsu cafe, to Cassia Caneles’ canele blind boxes, we’ve seen our fair share of mystery food concepts. But a “mystery angbao” that gives you Wagyu at just $38? That’s a first. Wagyu Beef Singapore by Fieldseas, an under-HDB butchery in Toa Payoh, is rolling out this playful Chinese New Year concept that will be available till 28 February 2026.
The mechanic is simple. All you have to do is buy an angbao for $38 that gives you one of three Japanese Wagyu options. The minimum value of each beef is $48, which means you’re getting more than you’re paying for.
The luckiest folks will get Shabu-Chan, AKA A4 Wagyu Premium Shabu, followed by Yakini-Kun, which is essentially A4 Wagyu Premium Yakiniku. There’s also Roru-San, A4 Wagyu Chuck Roll Yakiniku. FYI, each comes vacuum-sealed in a neat 250g pack.
If you think about it, you’re killing two birds with one stone—feasting on Wagyu that won’t break the bank with your loved ones, while adding a fun, lucky-draw element to your Chinese New Year celebrations.
Keep your eyes peeled for the butchery’s website, as there are plenty of other prizes to look out for.
