While many don’t appreciate rude customer service, a few believe the food actually slaps when the person serving is slightly hostile. It’s no wonder this unassuming stall named Fiie’s Cafe selling nasi ayam goreng has racked up popularity despite Mister Grumpy’s grim demeanor. Plus, they recently opened their fifth outlet in Bedok!
Fiie’s Cafe first gained attention after customers at their Lucky Plaza outlet complained about the owner’s hostility when serving customers. Things started to turn around after many tried their famed nasi ayam and realised that the sassy attitude was worth it.Â
The stall became so popular that they opened four more outlets in Toa Payoh, Holland, Woodlands, and recently, Bedok.
The pièce de résistance is their Signature Nasi Ayam ($6.50), featuring a crispy and juicy fried chicken, which is said to be well-marinated in a variety of spices. This comes in breast or thigh pieces, depending on availability.
Pair this with the smoky, sweet sambal and fragrant rice for the perfect bite. It also comes with plenty of crispy battered bits, making the dish all the more addictive. You can also top up $1 for additional sides such as begedil and quail egg to complete your meal.Â
