With the new month approaching, we’ve rounded up some of the best food deals and dining promotions for August 2024. From 1-for-1 mains to National Day specials and discounts, check out this list to get the most bang for your buck this month. That’s not all: read till the end for an exciting contest where you can win NDP tickets! 


1. Bucketta: free seafood bucket buffet


If you share the same birthday as Singapore, you’re in luck. From 9 August to 23 August 2024, those born on 9 August can enjoy Bucketta’s premium $59.90++ Seafood Bucket Buffet for free! This dine-in deal is valid when you visit with at least one partner, and reservations are required as well. 

Each bucket comes with a generous amount of seafood, including black mussels, clams, prawns, crayfish, sausages and more. You also get to select from a range of sides, such as Thai Pork Chop and Mama Noodles, which can be mixed into your sauce for extra flavour.

2. Cosford Container Park: $5.90 sides


Good news for those staying in SG this National Day: Cosford Container Park is rolling out a smorgasbord of events and promotions to celebrate our nation’s birthday! Through August, enjoy $5.90 sides at ETC (Eat That Chicken) when you buy any main. The Korean fried chicken chain also offers a great range of beer-friendly snacks, including Tteokbokki ($10.90), and 10-Piece Winglets and Drumlets ($19.90) in flavours such as Soy Garlic. Alternatively, head to Boon Tat Street BBQ Street and buy a main to enjoy a side of Kang Kong at only $5.90

That’s not all: there’ll also be a three-day weekend market from 9 August to 11 August, 1pm to 9pm, where you can look forward to activities such as Zumba classes, free face painting and even a cocktail masterclass, priced at $22 per person!

3. Allora: 50% off lunch


For the whole month of August, snag 50% off your lunch from 12pm to 3pm every day at Allora! To enjoy this promotion, simply use the promo code 50LUNCH when you’re making a reservation. Do note that this deal only applies to the a la carte menu and food orders.

If it’s your first time here, get their signature Polpo & Patate ($12++, U.P. $24++), starring grilled octopus tentacle, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, green beans, parsley, and bagna cauda, an Italian vegetable sauce. Otherwise, the Bari Pizza ($17++, U.P. $34++), topped with anchovies, burrata, anchovies, and capers, will not disappoint.

4. Barossa Steak & Grill: 1-for-1 mains

For the whole of August, enjoy 1-for-1 mains at Barossa Steak & Grill, when you visit for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays. Meat lovers will enjoy the 36Hrs Slow-Cooked Australia Angus Beef Cheek ($30++), served with red wine jus, potato mousse, and green salsa on the side, which works out to just $15++ per serving with the promotion. The meats here are fired up in a Josper oven, resulting in a juicy and flavourful middle, paired with a golden-brown crust.  If you prefer seafood, try the Adelaide River Humpty Doo Barramundi ($36++), accompanied by artichokes, mussels, and couscous.

5. Typhoon Cafe: 50% off souffle pancakes


To celebrate National Day this year, popular Taiwanese cafe Typhoon Cafe is offering 50% off their souffle pancakes with the purchase of two Typhoon Signatures and Typhoon Creations. Must-tries include their Signature Souffle Stackers ($16.80++) and White Rabbit Souffle Stackers ($16.80++). The latter stars fluffy souffle pancakes studded with actual bits of White Rabbit sweets, paired with milk ice cream. Otherwise, for something more substantial, treat yourself to a bowl of Taiwan Lu Rou Rice ($9.90++) or Taiwanese Shrimp Fried Rice with Crabmeat Gravy ($12.90++). Prices listed are before the discount.

6. KFC: buy 5 free 1 ondeh egg tart


ICYMI: KFC Mala Goldspice—mala and salted egg-flavoured fried chicken—is now out in stores till 3 September 2024! The fast-food giant has also brought back their popular Ondeh Ondeh Tart for a limited time only. These tarts, priced at $2.40 each, feature a pandan-infused egg tart with a molten brown sugar core, encased in a flaky pastry that’s topped with shredded coconut. To maximise your spending, buy five Ondeh Ondeh Tarts and get one free—this means you’re paying $12 for six tarts, which works out to just $2 per piece!

7. Fufu Pot: $59++ Chili Crab Seafood Bundle

If you love Fufu Pot as much as we do, don’t miss out on their National Day special. From now till 11 August 2024, order their limited-edition Chili Crab Seafood Bundle ($59++), which feeds two diners. You get a Chili Crab Soup Pot, along with another soup pot of your choice, served with a plethora of seafood, meats, and fresh veggies. Highlights include flower crab, prawns, clams, Angus beef shabu and more. There’s even fried mantou for you to dip into your chilli crab soup! 8. Maji Curry: $5.90 dining voucher


From 9 August to 13 August 2024, visit Maji Curry at Novena Square 2 and spend a minimum of $30 to enjoy a $5.90 return dining voucher! This award-winning Japanese curry rice chain has outlets in the USA and Thailand, too.  If it’s your first time here, we recommend their Hamburger Steak Cheese Sauce Curry Rice (from $14.30++), which won the Kanda Curry Grand Prix in 2018. You get a plate of short-grain rice and a chunky beef-pork hamburger steak, surrounded by Japanese curry, then doused in gooey cheese fondue. Do note that this deal is for dine-in only.

9. NY Char Grill: $59 off your bill


From 5 August to 16 August, on Mondays and Thursdays excluding public holidays, enjoy $59 off your total bill at NY Chargrill, a fusion Korean BBQ restaurant at Jewel Changi Airport!  All you need to do is simply turn up in Singapore’s national colours, red and white, and spend at least $200 before GST and service charge. If you’re here for BBQ, check out their DIY grilled meat sets, including Pork Set Premium ($13.90++/100g) and Trio Set Premium ($16.90++/150g): skirt steak, prime ribs and beef brisket. Then, zhng up your meal with cooked mains such as Beef Bolognese Rigatoni ($15++), where rigatoni pasta is tossed in a meaty, tomato-based sauce.

10. Kamome Bakery: $5.90 off your bill

Bread lovers, rejoice: Kamome Bakery – Simply, Daily is offering a $5.90 discount on your bread purchases when you spend $30 or above! This deal is valid from 1 August to 31 August, at both their Paragon Orchard and Bukit Timah outlets. Treat yourself to perennial classics such as Milk Cream ($3.40), which stars a milk bread roll with a light cream filling, and Hot Dog Bun ($5.50), topped with a layer of melted cheese. We also love their Red Bean Butter Bun ($3.40), a round bun stuffed with sweet Japanese red bean paste and a slab of butter.
