Is This $268 Durian Buffet At RWS Worth The Splurge?

Resorts World Sentosa’s All Hail the King Durian Fest is back

At the peak of the durian season, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will be hosting the highly anticipated All Hail The King Durian Festival, happening across the weekends of 11 July to 13 July and 18 July to 20 July, from 6pm to 7:30pm on each day.

For the price of $268 per person, eventgoers can expect to feast on an abundance of premium durian varieties, such as the prized Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn (Ang Hae), Black Thorn, D24 and more within a 90-minute limit!

Here’s what we liked about the buffet: service was fast and efficient, with staff stationed on-site to help crack open your durians so you can enjoy them fresh. As part of the experience, you can even have a go at opening the durians with your bare hands!

Our two standout varietals were Mao Shan Wang and Black Thorn. The former delivered a rich, bittersweet flavour, while the latter stole the show with its ultra-creamy texture and deep sweetness—our collective favourite of the night.

Beyond durians, you can also enjoy free-flow tropical fruits such as rambutan and mangosteen. Refreshing beverages such as coconut water and Three Legs Cooling Water are also available on tap. Perfect for quelling all the heatiness!

If an all-you-can-eat buffet of the finest durians isn’t enough, you can also expect an array of dishes from Dian Xiao Er, including a live roast duck carving station. We felt that this was a thoughtful touch—being able to alternate between the rich durian and savoury meats helped cut through the jelakness and made the experience more enjoyable.

Each guest also receives a complimentary Durian Duck Plushie upon registration—a fun souvenir to take home.

That said, we’d say this buffet is best suited for hardcore durian lovers. We found ourselves feeling jelak after just three to five seeds, which made it hard to get our money’s worth.

It was also quite crowded during our visit, so we recommend arriving a little earlier to beat the rush.

Be sure to secure your tickets early from their website, as they are limited and selling out fast! Entry to the event will be from the Equarius Hotel lobby, right next to the Feng Shui Inn restaurant. A free shuttle service will also be provided from Hotel Michael Rotunda to the Equarius Hotel lobby.
